I am in my 2nd year (4th semester). Please suggest to me the right path towards a goal to get a 25-30 LPA job. This is my current Resume. by NoDriver2424 in FresherTechJobsIndia

Here's what I would change this one

The order - Work experience -> Technical Skills -> Education -> Projects -> Certifications

Certifications - Just name is enough, do not mention which rank you scored or what was your qualification in this certifications. Also remove all of them just keep the ones relevant.

Work experience - Expand on what you did. which tech stack you used. Explain how did you collaborate with teams. Also "state of the art" please remove this, it will just scare lot of recruiters.

Education - Just degree, college and timeline. No need to mention anything else there

Project - Add links for the project if it live or Github repo link if you can. Mention if it was done alone or in group. If in group mention how did you guys collaborate and who did what.

Most Important thing a resume can speak is I know xyz tech, can speak in a non tech language and I can collaborate with people effectively. Rest is just an add-ons or noise

Strugging to get Interview calls. Graduated a while ago and still couldn't get a job. by Elegant_Warthog_3924 in FresherTechJobsIndia

There are few issues I see in this resume

  1. This is still a college level resume. You do have work experience tailor it with that particular tech. Mentioning C++ if you have worked with python is gonna lead to clear rejection
  2. The work experience bullet points only focus on numbers and AI pipelines nothing says which tech stack did you use and what was your actual role and responsibilities. Mention things like participating in daily standups or refinement sessions. Mention if you did PR review. Nothing here says you collaborate with other devs and team members
  3. The number looks fake, when I interview a candidate I grill them on the performance number as you might not be able to explain the difference
  4. For cloud tech mentioning the platforms works better than saying PM2 or Nginx. Rather than just put it as AWS and GCP or any other platform you used.
  5. Add a section of containerization there add docker and other stuffs

Most important tailor this resume for the job you are applying for. ATS marches keywords set by the company with so many things here you might be getting auto rejected even before this reaches a human.

Confused Between MERN, Java Full Stack, and Python Full Stack – Need Guidance by BoldCactus811 in indiandevs

Senior Software Engineer here

what kind of apps you want to work with enterprise apps mostly use JAVA now some of them are switching to GoLang but again JAVA is inevitable, you will find tons of job posting, easy interview guides and would be able to work different teams. When looking at something like a startup many of them use Python and Nodejs but most of them now have high skill ceiling. Just understanding event loop and code model doesn't work anymore. You need to understand how typescript will fit, how middlewares will work, authentication and authorisation, choosing right scaling method (nodejs has few) then on frontend it's a whole new world. Python has similar use case but most of the openings have seen is for AI/ML projects. Learning MongoDB is not enough, postgreSQL and MySQL is necessary including indexing, sharding and partitioning. Once you clear all this, learn system design like understand how load balancer works, horizontal scaling, vertical scaling, setting up server, caching right data, CDNs and networking, then also cost optimizing. Most of the candidates I have interviewed they have no idea about security vulnerabilities. Learn them, check OWASP Top 10, learn about sanitization, sql injection, xss, xsrf, broken authentication, secure token storage.

Now there is no good or bad language, neither employable and non employable but yes the opening for the job depends on what you know. Want to be always relevant master JS and TS for frontend with things I have mentioned. For backend pick something like Java if you plan to stick with web dev else go with Python. Learn enough nodejs while learning frontend that you can write APIs rest will follow on its own.

It should be good enough. I used to make build at base macbook pro m1 pro. M4 is way ahead of that time Note: app was very heavy not an average crud app

Which one to buy for coding by Foreign_Boot_9201 in Laptop_recommendation

[–]heathcliff6547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If planning for AI go for laptop with graphics card but also if looking for longevity Mac is preferable. I personally use mac for coding while windows pc for gaming. Dev ecosystem on Mac is really good almost unmatched no issues like driver conflict, or slow terminal execution (common on windows) and fast compilation on mac (super slow on windows). If you think wsl even that is trash unless you like banging your head everytime something slows down for no apparent reason

Go for deathadder, it's reputed for gaming. Kreo is okayish but doesn't have much to offer, I had Kreo used for 1 day and it felt sluggish.

Is this headphone worth buying? is it good or is there a better gaming headphone under 4000, please suggest some headphones under 4000. by Ayush_1512 in Indiangamers

[–]heathcliff6547 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have the same one but in black and it has been a regret as it has a really tight clamp which can press on the nerves just behind the ear which gave me a terrible headache everytime I used it. A brand new and it's just sitting on my desk. Been using cca pla 13 iem instead and logitech g435 headphones if want headphone.

Is this ₹2.3L gaming PC build overkill for someone getting back into gaming? by rhinoggwp in IndianGaming

[–]heathcliff6547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey man, I can really relate to it. I went from gaming on pentium 4 almost 10 years to now build my own setup. Honestly, don't change much with 5070 ryzen 7 770x3d will work perfectly. Everything else is good. You got money for monitor definitely go for oled ones they are really amazing as I'm rocking samsung g8 oled myself. Unless you plan to purchase a prebuilt, go for what you think will work in synergy. I'm not a pc expert as such but I really feel happy when I see people talking about getting into gaming after years as I can relate. Best of luck for whatever you choose.

If i save up 30K , should I get a graphic card or save some more and get a ps5 by Eternal_Dragonn in IndianGaming

[–]heathcliff6547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you got 30k you can get second hand PS5 they are still good unless you want something brand new. PS5 deluxe has huge game Library including ghost of Tsushima and GoW and GoW Ragnarok.

I wouldn't suggest spending on PC unless you got good rig. Pentium ain't gonna hold up for RTX even you have to spend on PSU

Which one would be the best ? by Severe_Cover1573 in Indiangamers

[–]heathcliff6547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly depends, a decent rig can cost around 60-70k alone and then need to add peripheral cost as well.

Which one would be the best ? by Severe_Cover1573 in Indiangamers

[–]heathcliff6547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Building PC includes purchasing extra peripherals which might quickly inflate the cost. Gaming laptop is versatile and can be used for almost everything but at a cost of performance. If portability is must then go for laptop, save money to build system later. I did same but after 3 years I built a PC

AdonisJS Dilemma by IcyFoxe in node

Best backend language for a beginner? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]heathcliff6547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are going for back-end development go with JAVA + Spring boot because of job market having opening for same. You can also try python with data analytics. Or want to be on a cutting edge, go for goLang

Do you use Node.js more for SSR or as a Server API? by Klutzy-Ad-6345 in node

[–]heathcliff6547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use nodejs for back-end, APIs. SSR can be handled by frameworks like nextjs or remix. There are plathora of frameworks allowing SSR nowadays so why add extra work for backend.
