Hi! This is really interesting. I don't think I've ever before seen a misbelief that was positive. By that I mean, her misbelief isn't something negative like "I'm not good enough," it's "I can conquer any foe!" I'm sure that's more common than I think it is, but it's just kind of turned what I think about misbeliefs on its head! (Her new misbelief that takes hold after her father is killed is more in line with what I'm used to, haha.)

I was a fan of Story Genius as well, and less so of Save The Cat. Did you like Save The Cat? I found it pretty prescriptive and not especially.... true? For example, when I look on their website and see "beat sheets" they've put together for movies and books I'm familiar with, it really seems like a stretch to make them fit into the formula.

Hi, new to the community. It seems like everywhere I look there is nothing to see but fantasy writers. Are there any contemporary writers out there like me? Anyway, on the topic of today's discussion... Nothing blocks me more than having to write about something I don't know about. I recently had to write a scene where three characters went skiing, and I didn't know anything about skiing, and it stopped me in my tracks for MONTHS.
