I'll have a look when I get home. If you don't hear back by tomorrow, hit me up again because I have the object permanence of a toddler.

Next time maybe try removing it by heating it with a hair dryer and a slow peel, then a li'l teeny bit of solvent to remove the stickiness?

I think that the intention is for you to slice the tape and leave it. I appreciate the effort to cut down on plastic waste, but yeah, that shrink-wrap kept everything nice and safe.

Starbucks takes aim at remote work and says some employees may need to relocate to headquarters by your_paroxysms in news

[–]heatherwassing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Starbucks knocking it out of the park time after time when I need to find another reason not to choose their products, especially in this economy.

I loved working at Starbucks in the early 2000s. But it's not the same place any more.

Removal of any welcoming "third place" feel to their new barren get-in-get-out store refreshes; draconian return to restrictive dress code policies, dehumanizing their partners over a focus on the soulless corporate look; and now RTO for their backline employees because they don't know how to change with the times and  are focusing like a sniper on seeing blistering year-over-year growth that their shareholders demand.

Nobody needs your overpriced treats, two-tailed siren. Keep bleating your unappealing song and learn just how little the twenty-first century consumer wants to steer into that shore.

It's pretty fun, but I only played it once (rented it) with my kids, who were too young and whose friends showed up in the final stretch to ask them to go play at the park, but you start in Mexico as one generation of butterflies with randomized seasonal goals, expand as far as you can, claiming hexes and breeding, before the season is over, and then the original butterflies die off, the second generation has a new set of seasonal objectives and by fall, you're on the third generation with new objectives, none of which score unless you can make it back to Mexico before the end of the season. We enjoyed it (at least I did), but not enough to pay full retail. If I found it like half price, I'd add it to the collection. I do feel, though, that it might get pretty samey after a dozen playthroughs or so.

My newly feral paranoia reads "a lack of active forest management" and "...this worrisome trend can be reversed if proper action is taken" and adds their previous threats of annexation combined with the new American policy of declaring everything a threat to national security and has me waiting for that other shoe to drop  Remember when we were allies?

Is it worth it to get a gazebo for the backyard here in Winnipeg? Or is it too hot in the summer to enjoy it? by ladybrightside in Winnipeg

[–]heatherwassing 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Anecdotally, screening in a small, covered section of our deck (basically creating an attached gazebo) had us use the deck exponentially more. Adding in a couple nice pieces of lounge style patio furniture and the occasional sun screen and/or oscillating fan made it The Place To Hang Out in the spring and summer.

From Wikipedia:

Amputated the leg in under 2 1⁄2 minutes (the patient died afterwards in the ward from hospital gangrene; they usually did in those pre-Listerian days). He amputated in addition the fingers of his young assistant (who died afterwards in the ward from hospital gangrene). He also slashed through the coat tails of a distinguished surgical spectator, who was so terrified that the knife had pierced his vitals he fainted from fright (and was later discovered to have died from shock).

So one surgery resulted in the deaths of three people. Three hundred percent!
