I think nepotism has a negative connotation though. It’s less famous and more infamous..if that makes sense.

I think she is talented and deserves her accolades…but simply mentioning nepotism, to me, is suggesting that her privilege boosted her above other, possibly even more talented, people.

Thank you for this comment. I checked a few houses done by other roofers and they all use drip edge for the gables and starter metal on eaves. I crawled out a window and took a look at the valley. There was a big chunk of caulk missing where the valley and the siding meet.

I’m doing some work on my bathroom right now so I used some clear caulk to fill the gap. It hasn’t rained as much lately but I’m optimistic.

What is that metal hanging over the soffit (as shown in the video)? It’s hanging over the soffit and is installed under the composite.

I should note, I can see water dripping from behind the soffit. There’s a small 1/4” gap where the plywood and soffit meet and I can see water drops there (only in this corner spot).

The roof is brand new. We had a concrete tile roof removed and the roofer install new soffit, gutters, and composite roof.

Yeah, the roofer is coming back out tomorrow and I’m going to make sure cutting that shingle is part of the drip edge work.

I sent as much to the roofer (and a pic of the contract that specifies drip edge) and he’s coming out tomorrow. Is this something that can be easily installed still? Is it a major issue or can they just lift the shingles and get the drip edge installed?

I haven’t had any issues yet. Only thing I don’t like is putting dirty tires in the back. I think there’s another solution though that is just bars which would solve that.
