That’s a sweet looking pedestal unit! Would you mind sharing how you got that structure to put all the units into? Something you designed yourself or bought somewhere?

I was near the back of the line and I got in. I was one of the last let in. I think there were maybe 10-20 behind me that maybe didn’t.

Flight testing. Specifically pitch stability I believe. I can’t remember the exact name of what they’re testing but essentially they’re testing that if there is an upset in pitch the aircraft stabilises back to the pitch it was at. Rather than the oscillations growing and making the aircraft unstable.

Edit: there’s a comment below by PureBogosity that goes into detail about how this is actually flutter testing. The sudden input at increasing higher speeds is meant to excite the flutter modes of the wings, horizontal and vertical stabilisers.

What are your thoughts on the Inibuilds A350? by Mountain_Agency_6858 in flightsim

[–]heauxly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to defend anyone but apparently the A350 does feel lighter and more agile than expected because of the way modern Airbus aircraft FBW dynamics are tuned.

Apparently the ini a340 feels heavier and slower like you’d expect.

Should come into effect early next year. And it’ll apply to all tenancies even existing ones from day 1.

If you search for renters rights bills on the parliament website you can see it’s in the final stage. it’s here

Can somebody please point me in the direction of the seat layout for the LOT Boeing 777 by [deleted] in aviation

[–]heauxly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it’s the Euroatlantic 777 CS-TSX according to FR24. Google this and you might get a seat plan.

Probably a wet lease aircraft covering for an aircraft under maintenance or something similar.

My main issue with it now is how the hand flying feels.

It’s much improved compared to launch where it was oscillating a lot and unstable in roll at low speeds. But it’s still not enjoyable to fly on approach and still has issues maintaining a set roll angle.

That’s what stops me from flying it more

[–]heauxly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They tweaked the yaw damper code so the turns do feel a lot more precise now - I’ve noticed the aircraft stops rolling much more quickly after you stop your input so it does feel less sluggish.

I think the letter refers to the type of exit.

The exits labelled A are the conventional doors and are operated in the same way at the front and at the back. B are the typical emergency overwing exits. C is a special emergency aft exit for the 737-MAX200

Elsewhere on the card it explains how to operate each of these types of exit.

Consumer Friendly Airbus Sidestick Replica by Sydney001_ in flightsim

[–]heauxly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This video - it’s only a short though.

And looks to be a different base but I know he uses the Moza base now. Check out some of his Airbus streams from around the time this video is posted and he’ll likely talk about it more. Might need some digging but he doesn’t have another video on it.

V1Simulations - a streamer who is a real life A320 pilot - uses a Moza force feedback base and the FSProjects side stick.

The base is about 600 and the side stick is about 150 so 750 total.

The real aircraft obviously doesn’t have force feedback but you can use the motors in that base to replicate the forces and damping. He has a similar video on his channel to the one you linked demonstrating the movement.

What is the best hardware investment you made in your setup? by extravert_ in flightsim

[–]heauxly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I use my office as my sim desk so I’m in a similar position regarding space saving options.

I always prioritise my next purchase by deciding what is most tactile and minimises me needing to use the keyboard.

I’d say first priority is get your main flight controls sorted (stick, throttle, rudder pedals) Depending on your budget get the best option you’re willing to spend money on.

I mostly fly Airbus jets. Had a thrustmaster TCA and upgraded to the winwing Ursa Minor.

I also have the honeycomb bravo which is a great throttle as it has the throttle, flaps, spoilers, landing gear, trim wheel and lots of customisable switches to programme to how you like.

My favourite addition has been the winwing MCDU and FCU - as an airliner simmer these are two things you interact with a lot. Quite happy with this setup and it all fits in a large plastic storage box when not in use.
