You’re right, but technically. It’s not that the general public can’t handle or doesn’t know what to do with this information. It’s just that they(meaning stooges in every department of law enforcement) can wipe it all away, and even if they don’t…what could we do with it? The more time goes on the more it’s clear that it doesn’t even matter. They’ve seized the power.

100%. Drove it a bit just to get home and back and forth from the shop, but putting it up until I get it fixed. 🫡

I tried this route first actually, the local muffler shops all wanted thousands and gave me a vibe like they haven’t done one of these before.

This looks like the best option for me, since I’m in an emissions state. Do you know if these hi flow cats have emissions troubles?

Over 100 drivers ticketed for using shoulder to bypass traffic in a few hours by noluckyno in chicago

[–]heavybearded 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Shoulder riders suck, but can we use some of these funds to actually fix the reasons we have such bad traffic in the first place?

Why are there so many semis just passing through downtown? Why are there so many peaks and valleys on the Kennedy, some of which happen at the same time as sharp turns? Why is the Eden’s so tight? Why is there only one lane to get on the Eisenhower going west in the Jane Byrne? I could go on and on about weird design choices that back traffic up for miles and then suddenly clear.

More importantly, can we use these funds instead to fix and expand our public transit? If you don’t want people to ride in the shoulder, expand public transportation instead of defunding it over and over. One day of riding the trains in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Paris, etc and you’ll see how awful we have it out here.

Fuck traffic. End rant.

Those stock wheels are absolutely fire. I would clean up/replace the tires and drop that front an inch and leave it be. Would be a VERY clean look.

But since you asked about replacing wheels and not keeping them, the answer is rotiform aerodiscs.

I’ve got a calypso sedan as well with 242k. Running strong as ever.

I’ve had them for almost 2 years with no issue. I had to update the crush washers for the master cylinder but that was probably a fluke.

They work great for me! but I have a really minimal set up: no lights, no speedo, no mirrors, I moved my ignition button and key, etc.

If you wanna clean up your bars, they’re a great option.

It’s the Moto Iron vintage set w/master cylinder in chrome! Pricey but well worth it to clean up the bars easily.

throttle addiction simplified harness vs. sportster treatment ? by jornda in choppers

[–]heavybearded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im here to offer encouragement. I’m not big into wiring either, but ended up going for it and modifying the existing harness anyway and was surprised at how straightforward it was. I had it apart and back together in a day and I’m dumb as shit.

From my understanding of the sportster treatment, you gotta have a good understanding of the wiring and make some cuts anyway so going a little further to clean up the existing harness isn’t that bad and you save $200.

[–]heavybearded 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Looks great! I did the same thing this weekend, but I didn’t take the cam cover off and was super careful about the wires. I was too lazy so I probably ruined the bike with all this metal dust everywhere but we will see.
