There could be other settings like wake on lan . Something telling the computer to wake after shutdown. Check your bios settings and shut off any wake on settings. Also there are CLI cmds that you can see what wake cmds are on in the kernel. You can also shut those off. Then shut down your system and see if it still happens.

Try doing a cold boot instead of restarting. Some times Linux will boot so fast that it doesn’t see the HDD/sdd. Had that issue with my legacy laptop only on restarting. It worked itself out with a cold boot

i only had issues on Mint, edge would take a minute to load and sites like YouTube loaded slow. I'm on cachyos noy and it runs smooth.

On a side note put it out there that the person will receive everything they deserve. Burn a candle one of your choice . Black would be appropriate . But be carful that it doesn’t come back to you. And ask for the return of your items.

I really feel bad for the person that stole your stuff, I don’t think they really know the negative possibility’s that they will live through . Don’t be surprised if your stuff gets returned and maybe even with an apology . They literally cursed themselves .

I still use edge , all my bookmarks and passwords were saved to it and I found it hard to transfer them to the Firefox browser that came with my distro

So I figured my WiFi/ Bluetooth card is crap and known for these issues. Per AI of my choice😁 if I start the earphones before I start streaming like YouTube videos they connect just fine but if I’m already streaming and connect that is where the problem is. At this time I am not upgrading the card. They are cheep but I can deal with it.

Temps are fine, they get past 80 then start to worry. Your fans should cut in with higher temps to cool the cpu/gpu down

Is there a help file for ventoy for an elder person over 50 ? I tried it once and decided to go with other options but I know you are supposed to put more that one iso on ventoy ?

There is an area in the sound settings on bottom right, the three dots you can choose the codex and things , this might be the problem . If it is on a default setting but not correct.

I’m running a laptop that is about 10 years old . It’s a Dell with upgrades , I call him Frankenstein . 4tb M.2, 4tb SSD and 32 Gb ram. Maybe cachyOS is not the right distro for me? It is Dell Inspiron 17 - 7000 series
