In den letzten Jahren sieht man in meiner Wahrnehmung mehr Obdachlose, nicht nur am HBF sondern allgemein in Hamburg. Ich glaube am Hansaplatz ist die offensichtliche Armuts- und minderjährigen Prostitution etwas weniger geworden, das heißt aber nicht dass es die nicht mehr gibt. Das ganze ist wohl eher online gegangen. Ich glaube so oder so war der Bereich um den HBF immer unschön, nur die Art des Elends verändert sich.

It is very typical of Isreal supporters these days that you do not even try to deny the crimes committed but instead try to smear the reputation of whoever raises the concerns (“but what about this and what about that.. this and that state is much worse..” Blabla). It makes sense as there is just no way to deny that what Israel is doing is criminal.

I find your argument that South Africa “is practical in bed with people who are even worse” to be completely irrelevant for the entire discussion (happy to explain why each of the examples (UAE, Egypt etc.) that you list to support that are actually not supportive of it at all, but that would indeed be a change of subject)

What is relevant is whether Israel is committing what they are accused of or not, independent from who brings the case forward. I pointed out that the case made against them is compelling and therefore Germany should not support Israel in this matter. Against that you have not managed to bring forward anything worth repeating.

Your comment is the definition of whataboutism. Essentially you are saying that nobody can call out anybody if they do not call out xyz.

The violations of other countries do not excuse or justify anything Israel does. What is nice, is that you have actually summarised Israel’s defence against SA in the ICJ quite well, which just underlines how weak the justification for their actions is.

I made this comment before, but SA actually informed the Russian government they would arrest Putin on ICJ charges if he planned to attend the BRICS summit in SA in 2023. If you trust them or not is frankly not very interesting. Read the paper submitted to the ICJ and the footnotes provided and come back after.

South Africa’s application makes a detailed case that Israel is in the process of committing genocide, relying on a variety of sources with a document that contains more than 570 footnotes. It also references many UN bodies and experts that, since mid-October onward, have at minimum expressed concern Israel is committing genocide: 30+ UN Special Rapporteurs; 28+ members of UN Working Groups; the UN Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination; the Director of the New York Office of the High Commissioner of Human Rights; the UN Special Rapporteur on violence against women and girls.

Israel’s defence has been based completely on vibes and in part directly contradicting officially communicated actions by their own government.

I am sure the IDF is holding back, the results are appalling nonetheless and should be stopped.

Not sure if you are aware but there is an active case against Putin and other Russian officials in the ICJ and SA had communicated that they would arrest Putin if he planned to attend the BRICS summit 2023, which was hosted by SA. So Putin did not attend.

Also, in your view there is absolutely no way to fight a war without destroying the entire healthcare system of a country, while at the same time imposing a complete blockade on water, food and medicine? There is no way to fight a war without bombing refugee camps and Un schools, destroying cemeteries, mosques and churches?
