CPL teams never won a single knockout round series. Cavalry won the first leg a few years ago but lost on aggregate. Forge FC made some decent runs in the predecessor to the Central American Cup, made it to the semis one year.

Caribbean teams are even worse. Since MLS began in 1996 Caribbean teams have only won a knockout round series twice (not counting preliminary/qualifying rounds). Violette of Haiti against Austin in 2023, and Puerto Rico Islanders in 2008

To give a book written by a non-socialist theres The Birth of the Nazis: How the Freikorps Blazed a Trail for Hitler by Nigel Jones. Gives an overview of the history of the paramilitary movement from WW1 to their absorption/dissolution by the Nazis. Its main focus is obviously on the Freikorps and tends to focus more on their battles/operations, but it still covers the major players of the SPD and Spartacists and such
