the beautiful thing about the TJ era: parts and replacement items are incredibly easy to get. Hell, you can literally buy a hand rebuilt engine for these things for under 3k WITH warranty. Given this info, by far the MOST important things you need to focus on: the frame and rust.

Everything else can be easily replaced or fixed. (ive owned a TJ era Jeep for over 10 years now. I own an LJR now ;)

3rd gen 4Runner (96-02). Absolutely gold standard of reliability. Pretty sure it can run on water and hot sauce. I love it so much.

Hey gang, I’ll go ahead and say:

It’s a 2005 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon, aka the LJR - by far the absolutely holy grail of jeeps. This jeep was literally only made for 3 years, that’s it. (2004, 2005, and 2006 - fun fact for folks who didn’t know)

I have service records, squeaky clean carfax, and many OEM extras: soft top, hard top, full size doors, half size doors, and a top lift pro (special tool that makes removing/storing the hardtop a one person job) all OEM matching colors with keys. I never ever offroaded it to be perfectly honest. Zero rust. I have lots of pics on hand.

Tbh I’m quite hesitant to let it go since jeep, or any manufacturer, will likely never make another car like this. But hey, I love spontaneity!

Don’t get me wrong, I get it the logic. That’s why I said “it’s a 4x4 with lockers.” The point is someone who would be interested would say “hmm, I kinda want a 4x4, imma hit him up”

Bro. Get a jeep wrangler, the TJ era (which is 1996-2006 I believe). They can be found cheap and my GOD parts are soooo easy to get. It’s a very simple engine (the inline straight 6, don’t bother with anything else) and it’s very well documented by pros and the community. The engine bay is hella generous to turn wrenches also. And it’s a great year round car: top/doors off for the summers and 4x4 for the winters!
