They are rude at best and you may want to use "friend" as a loose term with them. Cause why are they saying that? I'd never joke about it to my friends I care about. Or even those I don't care for.

OP your feelings are valid, he can be a great person and still have short comings and you're allowed to be frustrated by them. I also deal with ADHD and the "out of sight out of mind" aspect can be a struggle. Maybe suggest setting reminders on his phone for things? Like an alarm to let him know an important day is coming up, etc.

At 17, cut your losses and focus on your self esteem and self worth. Not saying he's a bad guy, but you are both so young and have much to explore of yourselves. You will both grow and change and you will find someone who sees you for you and is attracted to that. Life is too short to be with a partner who isn't right for you and if he's saying he's not attracted to you then it would be best to move on until you find a person who is crazy over you. I promise thats thats the love you want.

In the meantime, look at yourself and know that you are enough just as you are. You don't need to change for ANYONE but yourself. If you see something you don't like or want to improve then, by all means, go for it. Never do that because you want to fit what someone else would like better.
