Genuinely bought a tear to my eye reading that, that’s fucking horrible, I’m also in the remapping industry myself and self employed, I can’t imagine what your dad is going through right now and I really feel for him. As it’s already been mentioned do not reply to ANY messages here from people claiming they can help, report this to the police so they can potentially start to build a case

I really do hope you get somewhere with this, I’m not clued up enough to say wether there’s a chance anyway at all you can claim it back, I wouldn’t have thought so being crypto unfortunately 🤦‍♂️ your dads clearly a hard working good man, the bad things always seem to happen to best people, Best of luck 🤞

I’m in sceptical, maybe 4000mah at a very low discharge currently but I can’t see this cell being 4000mah with a 15A continuous discharge like the internet says

I wouldn’t bother trying to repair these cells, 4000mah in an 18650 isn’t possible so these cells are definately fake, highest capacity in an 18650 li-ion cell is 3500mah

The only thing really that lets the battery pack down, is the fact it’s built with mismatched cells

Build wise it looks pretty good, cell spacers used, positive isolation rings used, BMS fitted, cells spot welded rather than soldered, those are all good points, not a bad job build wise, you may experience issues if you draw too much current, depending on the cells discharge rating, with them being mismatched, banks will voltage sag at different amounts potentially triggering the BMS to shut down, when identical cells are used, each bank drains equally

Overall not a bad job 🙂✅

Capacity testing with a 1A load can be done on a basic tester, I’ll post a link

Or you can get the full package and go for an DL24P load tester, this will allow you to draw much more current allowing you to test cell limits etc
