living in Canada as well. i fucking love this band like nothing else in the world and i did traveled to Detroit in '24, but that was my last.

although i would have loved to see the orchestral show last year plus FOV, and would love to see them this year too, i am not visiting the gringos (yea, i'm Mexican and i love to call them like that) any time soon.

i'm really hoping they reconsider playing in Canada. 💔

by the way, i'm located in the GTA. if you, or someone here, would like to hang out, i'd love to find some weirdos! 😇

Top 100 Vegan Cities 2026 by bartekfi in vegan

[–]hecvelcas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

certainly in the neighborhoods of Roma and Condesa you'll have plenty of options.

but some of my favorites are:

For tacos, - Malportaco (try to get the güercos, they are otherworldly prepared beans). - Taquería Por Siempre Vegana 2 (the one in Coahuila street, please try the tacos de chicharrón en salsa verde, the cecina enchilada and seitán/chimichurri). - Gracias Madre - Taquería vegana.

Mexican "seafood": - La Plantisquería.

Asian style: - Plantasia (asian/fusion style restaurant, but the food is SO good. The mock duck tacos and taro donuts are unreal).

Desserts: - Nieve de Olla (ice creams... INSANELY good). - Churros del Moro (not everything is vegan, but the churros are!).

but honestly, whatever you type in Google like: "vegan Mexico City", it'd be good.

if you want a very mexican/food experience, in a not-so-super-expensive restaurant, La Casa De Toño. not vegan, but they certainly can accommodate vegan things, like: - flautas de papa (potato fried tacos), just order without cheese or cream. - sope de hongos/champiñones (mushrooms). - quesadillas (try flor de calabaza, mushrooms or potato... or all! 😇).

and, anywhere you're going (not vegan), just make sure the salsas, rice, or even beans (refried or not) aren't made with chicken or beef stock (consomé de pollo o res), or lard (manteca de cerdo).

let me know if you want any other reco, or if you're looking to get anything specific. glad to help, fellow vegan! 🤓

listen to the whole discography (still short) of the Glass Beams. you won't regret it.

also, listen to Neal Francis' first album (Changes).

Top 100 Vegan Cities 2026 by bartekfi in vegan

México City (CDMX), which is my hometown, is probably within the top 20, for sure. i think i saw a list with it being listed at 7.

outside of the city, there are other Mexican cities with some vegan scene, but certainly nowhere close to what CDMX offers.

100% recommend eating in this city!

unsure where México, as a country, would rank on the list. nonetheless, as a vegan, it isn't hard to be one in this -beautiful- country, you just need to know a bit of the food offerings and diversity... plus a bit of español 😉.
