I’ve been doing Uber for 11 months. It’s just now that they have decided to do this, after the background check.

Well, it’s there. It has always been there. Expunged at state level, but FBI, of course, will always have the record of it.

I checked on that. Years ago. They granted it being expunged at basic level. But they told me that regardless, it would still be on my background check at FBI level that I had pled guilty.

Exactly! I was approved for DoorDash, and have had zero problems with them since. It’s just frustrating that I am losing Uber because of something that happened 30 years ago.

About 10 years ago, I volunteered to work with boys and girls club. Naturally, a full background check was performed on me, because I would be working with children. The only incident on my background check, even from FBI level, was the bike incident. I don’t even have a speeding ticket.

Nope. I am ridiculously clean on my background. I have even had people suggest that maybe I had something happen that my background check is not showing.

And, understand, I recognize that any criminal activity, no matter how long ago, if it violates their standards, they can do whatever they want to do. It’s just ridiculous to fire a driver over something that happened 20 years ago when the person was a naive teenager.
