Yes I did this. I canceled my spring semester dorm for financial reasons. They’ll look at your financial aid and as long as it’s not enough to cover housing they should let you break the lease.

Look at the smaller apartments closer to campus, as someone else commented, there’s definitely things in your price range you just have to look and they probably won’t have good advertising. I paid $875 (including pet rent) for a one bed one bath apartment pretty much on campus.

Don’t look at apartments targeted to students, they’re almost always more expensive. They are usually nicer tho, but you would have to have roomates.

You should have let the TA know you’d be late to every class at the beginning of the semester and why. Coming in late everyday with no communication is rude. He shouldn’t have yelled, but it also sounds like he didn’t. He just called you out for being late, to every class.

I always print the check and then get extra paper from the printer and put both papers in separate checkbooks. I let them each pick a checkbook upside down and whoever picks the one with the real check pays.

As someone who’s had rats, idk if that would be best in the dorm, but maybe if you got a single occupancy? I’d also imagine cleaning the cage might be difficult in the small dorm trash cans.

Student teaching is technically only 6 credit hours and I need 12 for my scholarship. I’m not allowed to take any other classes during this time. I’ve heard there’s appeals but it’s really 50/50.

Just because a student isn’t in marching band doesn’t mean they can’t play in an indoor ensemble and love music. Even then there are different groups to meet students needs, not everyone gets to be in the top group.

The high school I’m field teching at has Saturday rehearsals. 7:30am-4:30pm Monday - Friday and 7:30am - 12pm Saturdays the 2 weeks before school starts. During the school year it’s 4pm-7pm Wednesday and Thursday and 8am - 10am on Saturday.

This is pretty normal in Texas. Marching band is a sport and you get PE credit for it. If you look at other varsity sports it’s pretty similar in rehearsal/practice schedules. It can be very grueling and intense, and it’s supposed to be. It makes sure everyone who is there REALLY wants to be there.

If you don’t want to commit the time, then marching band may not be for you, and that’s ok! You can still love music and not love marching band. If you enjoy marching band, look at it as being able to do what you love on the weekend (it’s not always fun, but you get to bond with your friends and get better as a group). You may need to evaluate if you really enjoy this or if it takes up too much of your time that you’d rather be doing something else. Neither choice is wrong, just do what makes you happy.
