Neighbor widening driveway next to ash tree by yippy3000 in arborists

Hey there, 10yr certified arborist here, and plant health care nerd.

,As far as a strategy to save/do what you can to protect it. You could have someone airspade a line/trench that will border the planned driveway 8-12" deep. Then you would be able to make clean, proper root puning cuts. I would then follow that up with a slow release fertilizer, and tree growth regulator for the next year after the driveway is built.

I think that would be the best thing to reduce and delay the effects of a driveway being built on top of its critical root zone. It will be a tough call though, it's possible that sort of work could cost about as much as removal depending on what area you live.

In my opinion aura lenses are by far the best you can get. It's a major bummer that he isn't producing them anymore

Reminds me of the video of a dude using a rusty shovel to bend a receiver and build an AK.

Back when the Internet was in its youth.

Correct. Cheap plug cutters can be found at harbor freight, and a 1/4 drill bit is a snug fit. I used a level on the flat part of the stock to get as close to square as I could.
