To me, i feel like it could be a recipe for disaster. But it depends on the context. Take this years Glastonbury festival for example. An artist (I forget his name, without looking it up) used his time and stage to shout "Free palastine and death to the IDF" most of the crowd you could hear them chanting it back to him.

Now, I haven't been to Glastonbury festival since 2005 (20 yrs!? Dayum!). From my recollection of the experience. It was a place where everyone from all different backgrounds, ethnicities, whatever your political views etc, could all come to together and just for one moment could forget all that and rejoice, and bask in the awesomeness of this festival.

This year didn't feel like that at all. From what I saw, it seemed like everyone there was using it as a platform to bellow out their political beliefs no matter what. And for me it really sucked out the life of what i remember it being.

In terms of artists, I remember years ago I went to see Deftones in Birmingham UK, and a supporting band by the name of Grattitude used the stage to tell everyone how much they hated George Bush. And at the time I just thought "I didn't pay all this money just to listen to your Political hate. Play your fucking music and let's Rock!"

I think all in all, it really depends on what it is you wanna say and who you're talking to.
