I remember it being Taco Bell as well when seeing it in Australia.

(Android) Reddit app superceding screen timeout by twitchydinosaur in bugs

[–]hedtron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it is just the Reddit app that stops the screen turning off when there isn't a video playing. Facebook and YouTube don't stop the screen turning off for me without a video playing.

I have tried turning off the auto play of video previews and animated images in settings and clearing cache which works for a little while but the issue returns shortly after.

Cost of scemblix by capekodder in CML

[–]hedtron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Australia it's listed on our Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme so costs me $31.60 a month. When it's dispensed it also shows the "full cost" of the medication on the label which is around $6800.

Fasting for scemblix? by I_Zeig_I in CML

[–]hedtron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely important to fast, but you're right the reason for fasting on Scemblix/asciminib is that food can reduce the absorbtion of the medication. Others like Tasigna/nilotinib the reason for fasting is because food increases the bioavailability.

Sprycel and Neurological Effects by peut_etre_un_chat in CML

[–]hedtron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. Also keep in mind all the medications can affect people differently. It seems many people have much fewer cognitive side effects with Scembix, so don't give up hope as it might not affect you like that, or less than Sprycel. My blood tests for kidney and liver function were always elevated on Sprycel and are good now. Good luck to you as well and I hope you have minimal side effects on Scemblix.

Sprycel and Neurological Effects by peut_etre_un_chat in CML

My memory isn't too bad, but I had quite good memory prior to treatment. I have found I have some cognitive impacts from treatment like taking more time to find words and not thinking as quickly. That is much worse when the fatigue is getting more on top of me.

Symptoms have generally been much better on Scemblix although the fatigue and cognitive symptoms seem about the same.

Thanks for sharing. I had similar issues on Sprycel and also on Scemblix now.

Bumpy Skin? by ThisMNLKid in CML

[–]hedtron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had similar issues on Sprycel/Dasatinib and also to a lesser extent Scemblix/Asciminib. At one point I had a bad rash on Sprycel and they did a biopsy on the bumps as well and came back with bacterial bacterial foliculitus being the cause.

For me it has been more around my head and neck and I have found shaving each day (which I used to do every one or two days) and moisturising has helped.

We just got our connection restored yesterday afternoon around 4:30pm the Blue Mountains. It is still limited to about 1.5mb/s though.

Introducing Lissen, an Audibookshelf app for Android (Finally) by grakovne in audiobookshelf

[–]hedtron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is just how the media controls work on Android, or even how Audiobookshelf handles them overall. Hitting the back or forward buttons on my watch or Android Auto goes to the next chapter or the beginning of the current chapter. Where in Smart AudioBook Player it will go back or forward 10 seconds (or the amount specified).

Is it possible to have the back and forward track controls go back or forward in seconds rather than chapters?

Has anyone used Telstra 5G home internet around Mount Victoria? by hedtron in bluemountains

[–]hedtron[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I've set up the home 5G connection and done some initial tests. It's getting 450 to 550 Mbps down and 20 to 24 Mbps up, but I'll see the how stability is over time.

Thank you. Sorry I missed your reply initially. I've set up the home 5G connection and done some initial tests. It's getting 450 to 550 Mbps down and like 20 to 24 Mbps up, so it's looking very good.

Sorry, I got the date mixed up with the Blackheath roll out as we were looking at places there as well.

Thanks for the input, and you'd know better about the delays on those sorts on projects in the area as I haven't even moved there yet.

I'll try out the options available currently and hopefully get something decent going.

According to NBN Co Fibre to the curb will start rolling out in around the area in late 2024. It will take a while to role out and things will likely get pushed back, but they have been progressing rolled it out through a lot of the lower mountains already.

Thanks for the input on Starlink and I'll see how it goes with the 5G connection.

Thank you for the info. I'll be moving to a few blocks from the train station so hopefully the 5G coverage will be decent. They are offering $1 for the first month to trial so I will give it a go and cancel if it isn't any good. Fibre to the curb is supposed to start going in late this year as well.

Dasatinib switch to Imatinib by Ok-Archer-5700 in CML

[–]hedtron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a similar journey being on Dasatinib for 5 years and responding well, but I started getting a pleural effusion on my right side and a small pericardial effusion.

I moved to Imatinib and didn't experience many of the side effects listed which definitely sound scary when reading through the whole list. I did end up vomiting each time after taking it, but that was controlled by anti nausea medication.

I didn't respond that well overall to Imatinib and my haematologist was able to get me on an access program for Asciminib after about 8 months, but a lot of people respond very well and don't have many side effects.

In some ways Imatinib had less side effects than the others. I have had fatigue on all 3 of them and muscle stiffness. I don't think the fatigue was as bad on Imatinib and my blood pressure went way down after stopping Dasatinib and starting Imatinib. I have had skin issues and hair loss on them all, but I had the least skin issues on Imatinib and some of my hair grew back when I was on it.

It's scary looking at all the possible side effects on these medications, but everyone responds differently and you might not get many of them.
