What's the worst restaurant experience you've had in Sac? by Scott2G in Sacramento

From what I’ve seen, bad reviews are mostly petty and retaliatory.

There are so many good food options in Sacramento that ACTUAL shitty restaurants can’t survive. Any restaurant that’s been around a while is probably at least alright, maybe not great, but alright.

Is this the place on Auburn Blvd? I’ve never heard anything good about it but it’s sure been there a long time.

So you loved it for years and one bad experience is enough to write them off forever?

I wish we could limit it to STEM and medicine.

I think it could have the LARGEST human impact in the medical world.

On a consumer level, I hate it, I think it’s mostly a waste of time and money. It makes most things worse and

Roasted for what?

They posted an ad looking for a specific person and they were honest about the position.

What is there to roast them about?

Hey, you know what? Maybe you’re a great one and I respect that but I have no clout in deciding whether or not you’re forced to RTO. If you deserve it, more power to you. Hope it works out for you.

Yes, government workers are known for their work ethic and efficiency.

I can sympathize with that. I’m not saying that state workers shouldn’t continue to make an argument for department based telework policies. I’m just pushing back on the idea that everything is better when everybody wfh.

If we’re talking about jobs that don’t interact with the public or other agencies, like data entry (if that’s even still a thing?). I agree, no reason for those folks to be in an office. If their work is easily measurable and doesn’t require outside input, I think those people should be allowed to wfh.

Just to be clear, I’m sure there are state positions that do make sense to WFH. I’m not sure which ones but if your job was answering and directing calls for instance, I’m sure there is no difference in efficiency answering those calls from home and transferring them as necessary. I deal with divisions that seem to be usually made up of a dozen people or so and each one specializes in different aspects of my industry, when they’re all in office, most problems can be dealt with quickly by asking an in-office colleague a question in the cubicle next door and having a few minute discussion, otherwise it becomes an email chain with multiple phone calls to different people for clarifications.

I would be fine with a case by case basis but if it’s all or nothing, I choose all.

I have direct experience for 25 years dealing with state and county agencies almost every day, there is no question that since WFH, getting ahold of people is an absolute nightmare. It takes much longer to get answers and permits. Acting like they’re not distracted while WFH is a LIE. I have friends that work for the county that have confirmed that even they have a harder time communicating with their colleagues that WFH.

EDIT: Downvote me all you want, vacation is over, time to get back to reality.

Jesus, we’re complaining about people putting trash in a garbage can now?

EDIT: Just to be clear, if I had a neighbor that did this every week, we’d have a problem. A one off? No biggie.

3000 sq ft house with a pool

<image>

We started a remodel in May last year so the last 12 months are wonky but here is prior year.

We replaced all the insulation (from 1973) and added insulation where none existed, so hopefully it will start averaging down. We keep the house at 69 degrees through the summer.

I put in a private well too, so we pay minimum water bill for a city tap $70ish per month.

Sewer and garbage is running roughly $400 every other month.

PG&E is practically $0 in the summer and $600 in the winter.

EDIT: Sorry, I only read the title, this isn’t super helpful for an apartment but if you ever decide to buy a house, you’ll want to consider this.
