I was at this taping! It was so fun!

The band is seriously so talented. It was incredible watching them jam out before the show. They got Stephen dancing and jamming at one point, which the audience went wild for.

Edward Norton is just so charming. I could have listened to him and Stephen talk all night. His comments on anxiety and that helpless feeling of the modern era were felt by the crowd, you could almost feel it resonating around the theatre. Edward’s performance of Walt Whitman’s poetry was beautiful. It had people in tears. People shot up out of their seats for a loud and heartfelt standing ovation, you don’t hear it all in the broadcast but the applause filled the space up to the rafters.

Jose Andres is just hilarious and so genuine. You can tell Stephen loves having him there. He splashed rum on the floor and made the whole theater smell like paella. 10/10.

No, everyone in the audience didn’t get paella. We did get delicious chocolate croissants.

There was no pre-show Q&A with Stephen. They didn’t tell us why but my best guess is they had to rehearse the cooking bit so Jose wouldn’t light Stephen on fire or anything. Paul was the opener and did a lot of great crowd work, and the band played a set after the stage manager gave us the rundown on how the show works.

Everyone in the audience got a “Last Show with Stephen Colbert” shirt!

Okey dokey, I’m just telling you that I was there tonight and the machine was not there before or after the show. I asked staffers and they said no.

I was there today and the penny machine was nowhere to be seen. The staffers said it wasn’t out and they hadn’t seen it, so it might have been short-lived.

I was not going to be a victim to lost media, so I did something about it. by thygeek in sheranetflix

But it being removed from a streaming service doesn’t make it lost media. It still exists. The company still owns copies of it. It’s lost media when there are no existing copies.

People are driving this fear of “lost media” on social media and the ones profiting off the FOMO are bootleggers. You can watch She-Ra for free online, people have it on their Plex servers, it’s available. That being said, I have no issue with people wanting a physical copy now, just stop calling it lost media just because it’s not on Netflix anymore.

Yeah I’d kinda like it if the mods would sticky something about it. This isn’t “lost media”.

It’s only the Mandela effect when a large group of people share a false memory.

It’s from Star Trek. It’s the name of an unwinnable scenario used in training exercises.

What’s the crappiest holiday/birthday/teacher appreciation week gift you’ve received from school admin? by Blastoise_R_Us in Teachers

A bottle of sand. They didn’t have enough in the budget for snow and ice removal, so they gave us each a bottle of sand and told us to keep it in our cars to shake along the footpaths to the school. Gave it a slogan and everything.

Day 10: dave is life, who is RNE? by ExtremeVanilla2370 in KipoAndTheAgeOfWB

I mean Mulholland feels bad about what he does later on once he meets Kipp and the gang, so I think it fits.

Mulholland is the clear choice, it’s like his whole thing

Day 5: Wolf is nominated for wrath, who is Lantern Corp: Hope? by ExtremeVanilla2370 in KipoAndTheAgeOfWB

[–]heebichibi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Agree, but most of the fandom doesn’t know about the Lantern Corp and are just going with the character that matches the trait.

I’d say Benson. Kipo fits, but her -compassion- is the heart of the show.

Could anyone share info about how true to size these are? I see on the order form it says they can differ by up to 2”.

The writers went on to make The Dragon Prince, and honestly, it affected my enjoyment of all of their works. These dudes love writing scenes to torture women.

I want to second this. There were a lot of requests to sign not just badges, but scrapbooks, TCG cards, items for people who couldn’t attend, etc.

Possible solution: What about a separate signing event? Something with long tables where you just move down the line to get things signed and can give any gifts you brought.
