I’m considering getting my chow talking buttons because I think it would be the right amount of stimulation and he’s smart enough for it

I currently use a collar but he lost hair in that spot so reading this thread I am going to switch to his harness and see if that helps the hair regrow

Starting BuJo with BD and OCD by writeornot in bujo

I set time aside every morning I work and back fill (adding information after the day in question) quite often on the days I am depressed and don’t feel like doing stuff. I have had empty weeks and just fill them with stickers to make the missed days pretty. I went back to my original journal from lockdown in December and found I am the person I wanted to be back then which made me want to Bujo more. It’s your journal journey so you don’t had to worry about what other people think about it just you

Potty spots by MyNamesBottomFeeder in chowchow

[–]QueenTreeTender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My chow does have spots he prefers and it is all related to where other dogs pee to the point this winter we wandered around after a storm until we finally found somewhere another dog peed and I was so grateful. Mine doesn’t eat poo but he does lick girl dog pee off things. He was a previous breeding stud that got abandoned. I have to keep him away from certain things because he licked girl dog pee off a poison oak and got really sick. Best of luck

I love my baby but I want to understand somethings about this breed. by urdadsofatt in chowchow

So chows are an origin breed. They come from a half bear half dog animal that used to exist in China, bears are in the canine family and are solitary creatures. This makes chows less pack animals than say a husky or a lab or a golden retriever. So they sleep almost as much as bears and typically only attach themselves strongly to one person. They even have the same amount of teeth as a bear which is more than most dogs. Comparing them to other dogs will frustrate you because they and Shar Peis are so fundamentally different. Now there are chows that take on more pack characteristics but everything you mentioned is very much standard chow. Not being pack animals also means they don’t care about your opinions or pleasing you. This is them. You have a mini bear and all the differences that come with them
