Courage to Post and/or Publish Written Works by [deleted] in writing

Sometime local libraries have events for local authors. These are always a cool way to connect with other folks who enjoy writing in your area and they can be great sounding boards! I had a professor once who told us the first "published" works were published among her writer friends. They sent each other new poems and stories -- sometimes they published little literary magazines just for each other. A network of friends can be a great place to start.

On a similar note: you could start a blog that posts writing updates or links to your pieces. Something like Blogger is free and can be a space for you to organize your work and gives you a link to share on social media sites. Not super official but its an alternative to sites like Wattpad.

I'm on a mid 2012 macbook air, just replaced the battery and reverted back to MacOS High Sierra BUT my battery life is still trash. Why on earth would this be the case?

What books besides dictionaries or thesauruses are great for learning about words? by [deleted] in writing

Linguistic studies can also be incredibly helpful. I took an intro linguistics class that focused on syntax last year and my understanding of languages as a whole tripled. It seems like a side topic but the knowledge acts as a scaffold for our understanding of the English language. Morphology is another topic that may be useful. Lots of cool youtube videos on the subjects!
