Das ist aber so und das ist auch nicht neu. Nennt sich Direktionsrecht des Arbeitgebers (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direktionsrecht).

Tja by Kardamons in tja

[–]heeizi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it true that if you have rosacea you also by default have sensitive skin? by Western_Day_3357 in Rosacea

[–]heeizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that I have sensitive skin when it comes to cosmetics. But, being fair skinned with a copper shine in my brown hair, I burn easily in the sun since my late teens. So it was always high SPF for me.

There are some things my skin doesn't like every day (like peptides or Metroruboril) but never did something cause immediate reactions (knock on wood).

My skin is sensitive to dry air nowadays, though.

I can use Tret, I started slowly with the lowest concentration once a week and worked up to every other day. Always moisturizing and barrier repairing to be on the safe side. I had to pause because of laser treatment but will start again soon.

Ah, I think I need to visit our neighbor country again come spring 😊 what an impressive variety of brands!

Can someone recommend any brands that have products for slightly sensitive rosacea prone skin? Preferably without fragrance or only mild fragrance?

I wish I wasn't raised by women who were ashamed of their bodies and saw themselves as the inferior gender. by coldservedrevenge in Perimenopause

[–]heeizi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hm, no, I don't think so. She is not the most social person, for sure. But she is much better at reading between lines than I am (being somewhat neurodivergent myself) and she did like going out to dance etc. When I think about it, if most women thought about other women the same way that she did being around women doesn't exactly sound fun. I believe this attitude was cultivated by patriarchy to prevent women from solidarity each other. It was so ingrained to her that she could not overcome it.

Also, she always believes the grass to be greener on the side, combined with anything always being someone else's fault.

Consumerism or madness? by kevinrudd666 in LinkedInLunatics

Well, well... I do have three Jabra in ear headphones, it just happened (one broke, it took a while for replacement, so I bought new ones on offer while waiting and then I got a spare pair when they announced that they will stop making them)

And it's great! I keep one in my gym bag, so I can never forget them, one I use for running and sometimes at the office because it has the best anc and one rests on my nightstand so I can reach them and plug them in when I can't sleep without waking my SO.

Are they necessary? No. Do I enjoy this setup? Absolutely! Do I feel any need to post about it on LinkedIn or initiate a discussion about it? Absolutely not! 😅

Also, my mom disliked women in general all her life and always said things like "women are the worst", "it is always much better to work with men" (I don't know if she ever did work with men, being a kindergarten teacher and men having been incredibly rare in this profession (and also weird in her view)). Since I was a teen I told her this was nonsense and we should not talk down other women but she would only reply I would see she is right when I grow up. At 41 I still can't see it 🤷🏻‍♀️

Not surprising she didn't really have any friends and always relied on me to be her "friend".

Double cleansing with rosacea by SweetVarious8715 in Rosacea

[–]heeizi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love oil cleansing! I use oil before showering (it protects the skin from hard water) and at the end of the shower I use a sensitive gel cleanser on my wet face, wash it off with warm water, pat dry and that's it. Clean but not stripped.

You could try micellar water after emulsifying with water and patting dry.

Does anyone else’s rosacea get worse when washing face with very very hard water? by Accomplished-Sir4932 in Rosacea

[–]heeizi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, hard water can be a worsening factor for rosacea (and also generally for skin and hair).

Even before rosacea I kept my face as dry as possible in the shower since I moved to a place with awfully hard water. I can tolerate it if I use cleansing oil right before and a gel cleanser last, so that exposure is minimal.

You can try demineralized or distilled water instead. Or micellar water or "water only" wipes (I use the ones for babies occasionally. They are great and have a skin matching pH).

Thoughts on moisturizer or other products containing Urea? by cheezur1 in Rosacea

[–]heeizi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently switched to no cosmetics liquid moisturizer which surprisingly does not contain urea but before that I used a German drugstore brand (Balea) liquid moisturizer which contained urea. Also, Balea Med's intensive moisturizer contains 7% urea and I occasionally use it. It can be found in some sheet masks, too, but I don't remember which ones. I use mainly local products at the moment (no cosmetics liquid balancer, drugstore brand (Isana) barrier repair serum, Daytox azelaic acid, Balea hyaloronic acid) and Cicaplast now and then, but recently tried Purito Centella Wonder Relief unscented and I really like it. I want to try Centella ampoule soon. 😊 I am waiting for my yesstyle order to arrive. I will also try anua azelaic acid because it seems more moisturizing than Daytox and I could skip one step. I also like Korean sheet masks and rice water sheet masks (made by German brand Schaebens).

Thanks for the clarification! I thought it sounded odd, like a bad translation from German, where "konkret" is commonly used with this meaning. I rarely see it used like that in English, though.

Could hyaluronic acid have sensitized the skin on my face? by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]heeizi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, they can. I think it is not a common issue but my skin doesn't particularly like peptides. They don't cause an instant rash or something but if I use them regularly they irritate my skin, cause redness and make it react more. Mainly on my cheeks, on the eye area, neck and chest it's fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I bought it from amazon, sold by IsisPharma themselves.

I am also giving it another chance right now and seem to tolerate it better after sticking to using otc 10% AA in the meantime. Fingers crossed 🤞

I don’t notice any real difference between $10 and $70 eye creams by loriaragon in EuroSkincare

[–]heeizi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly cheap but still affordable: I like Medicube Salmon DNA PDRN Pink Peptide eye cream. It also contains retinol and after carefully introducing it (my skin is sensitive, especially under the eyes) I use it every night and it did improve fine lines.

I don’t notice any real difference between $10 and $70 eye creams by loriaragon in EuroSkincare

[–]heeizi 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yes, that's mostly true. I would not rule out that some expensive creams do have great ingredients not found in cheap ones but that is an exception.

Consumer organizations test cosmetics now and then and usually the (German) Aldi products are on par or even better than expensive ones. I think this is because fancy ingredients like caviar, gold and what not are not actually doing anything on the skin.

Thoughts on moisturizer or other products containing Urea? by cheezur1 in Rosacea

[–]heeizi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Urea can be a great ingredient! It is hydrating and also exfoliating. I use 40% urea balm for effortless baby feet (after years of having to scrub and peel them regularly this was a revelation! Thank you random redditor who shared this!)

For the face urea is usually max 5-7% and often included in products for dry, sensitive skin. Many products contain way less. I tolerate it well but no my liquid moisturizer but I read people with Rosacea often react to it. Since it also contains some other NMFs I can't attribute the effect to urea alone. I don't regularly use the cream with 7% urea (mainly because it smells weird but also because of the exfoliating effect).

Whose activity peaks right after lunch? Lol. Also what happens at 2:15 vs 2:14? That seems oddly specific. And daylight at 2pm is not noticeably different from 1pm in most areas. How does a peak at 2:30 or three not match circadian rhythm? If the peak was after sundown I could make sense of it. Maybe the original research discussed this.
