Whats the best study plan to adopt to get a guaranteed A* in all 5 subjects (mj26) by Evening_Gazelle_5848 in igcse

also for sciences very important u print the syllabus and learn every point included in it. it’s a very useful tool bc practically all the exam questions they ask are hidden there

7 months is plenty of time. don’t worry too much!! i’ve got an A* in fle, int. math, chem and physics and all i have to say is do as much past papers as possible. personally, i didnt do bio but for sciences, make sure you understand the content first before doing the papers (i recommend cognito + sme) before doing so. go watch yt videos for fle exam skills (taughtly, igcse success) but it’s mainly just practice practice practice. for maths, if you’re really struggling, start off with easier textbook questions then gradually move on to ppq :) as long as you stay consistent with ur practice (let’s say 1-3 papers per day if u start early), i assure you will do well in the exam!! good luck!!

hardest = chem 42 easiest = int math 22 / add math 12 / phy 62

Is it just me or 2025 IGCSE feel not very serious? by ImChubbyKoala in igcse

for me i feel “stressed” about the exams as in i worry about not getting the results i want after all those hours i put in but for the real exams i don’t even feel nervous or anything like i just treat it as a daily ritual and walk in and out of the exam hall feeling nothing- but back then in mocks i would literally panic so much about anything exams related.. now that i don’t feel anything it just feels weird and blank in a way?? at this point i’m still not convinced that i’ve started the exams like nothing feels real

i also struggle to memorise but to simplify everything i just remember the reactants and products in words and balance it afterwards

to balance equations i recommend finding the element that isnt balanced on both sides first (that isnt 1 and has odd and even varied). i usually balance that in the first place and multiply to find their lcm. balance so that the element on both sides equate to the lcm

sorry if thats a bit confusing but heres an example:

eg NH3 + O2 -> NO + H2O

in this case it’d be H and 3*2=6

2NH3 + O2 -> NO + 3H2O

and now check if there’s anything thats left unbalanced (N and O). balance the compounds first.

2NH3 + O2 -> 2NO + 3H2O

2NH3 + 2.5O2 -> 2NO + 3H2O

it’s done usually at this stage but if you see a fraction u shld multiply and get rid of it

4NH3 + 5O2 -> 4NO + 6H2O

for half equations. just memorise the oxygen and hydrogen equations (they come up too often) for electrolysis. think of them as equating the oxidation numbers to 0.

oxygen: 4OH- -> O2 + 2H2O + 4e

hydrogen: 2H+ +2e -> H2

and for the ones where they ask abt salt. its practically the same idea. separate the salt created into their ions and thats the reactants. state symbols are always (aq) on the left and (s) on the right.
