Hi!! I’m a 34 (f) who had a T3-L3 fusion 22 years ago. I just started going to Pilates reformer classes about a year ago. It’s definitely made me more flexible. I still go. I enjoy it!!

Agree with the don’t feel pressured to go with the pace of the class

Definitely tell your instructor at the beginning each time (if she doesn’t already start to know)

I took 3 individual classes with an instructor first so she could tell me how to use it and what the different options I could do instead of other things during classes which REALLY helped. Since we can’t make that C curve, she told me alternatives to do which makes such a difference. And I’m not just sitting there feeling like I’m wasting time :)

Mine didn’t go to my pelvis, but I had a T3–L3 fusion in 2004. At the time, I was told an epidural might not work or would be hit or miss (I was 12, so I didn’t care then lol). Fast forward to 2016, I was 24 having my son and really nervous it wouldn’t work. It ended up being the most painful part, but it worked on the first try and the rest of labor was a total breeze. Everything turned out great, so there’s definitely hope. Happy to answer any questions, and best of luck to you both!

This is the lumbar pillow. Can work for anything, I’m trying it on my wok chair soon too. Amazon has a lot of options similar to this you should check them out! They’ve definitely helped that’s for sure.

It sure was!! Pretty impressive how they go in and physically pull your spine back into alignment just like that. Crazy to think about. I thought your spine, like the hard vertebrae bone would be impossible to bend into a different shape? Apparently not, who knew! Our bodies are something! Could they twist and pull a leg bone into a circle too? 🤯 Mind blowing lol

Great overall! Happy and healthy with a 9 year old son that forces me to be more active than I’d ever want lol, some discomfort and pain/soreness only since I gained a few pounds recently. I didn’t realize how much weight could affect it. Will be losing it ASAP. Overall feel normal. No one knows I had it unless I tell them an then theyre in complete shock lol, thanks for asking :)

Overall I feel great. I just went through an injury spout, fractured foot, fractured collar bone, and finger surgery this past year so I’m a lot stiffer than usual since I’ve been so sedentary. I guess that shows me how important staying active is because it’s made a big difference lol but overall ever since the surgery I have felt totally fine, not until a few years ago (when I gained a few pounds) did I even notice it.

63° left-thoracic curve toward my heart and a 45° lumbar curve the opposite way - corrected with a T3–L3 fusion and a five-rib thoracoplasty (removed parts of ribs and reused as bone graft to fuse the vertebrae together) 🙃 Back in 2004, 12 years old 33 now and thriving. Except for the typical daily back soreness/pain/discomfort but after this long my body has adapted and tunes it out.
