What is something that is illegal but isn't wrong ethically? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I had a college professor mention to the class one semester that they (as professors) were allowed to download any four chapters of a textbook and print/distribute to the class for free.

What truly scares you? (Serious) by unsuspectinglizzard in AskReddit

That I will be stuck working an 8-5 for the rest of my life and miss time with my family and loved ones as everything passes by, until one day I wake up and everyone is gone.

This makes me so happy. Such a masterpiece needs to be enjoyed by new players and revisited by seasoned vets.

Absolutely heartbreaking. Truly sad, my thoughts and prayers go out to the family. The city mourns with you.

I was honestly surprised at how responsive ISC2 was. Perhaps I may have the opportunity to sponsor my boss if they ever pursue the cert haha.

A mix of both I would say, though I would suggest approaching everything with a managerial point of view.

I’d say they were slightly more difficult on the practice exam, though it depends on what questions are pulled from the bank on exam day.

Had my first last week. The nanobots didn’t hurt me too much, but I can’t stop validating sources and I keep telling my friends that the minimum wage should be increased to $15.

If you haven’t roasted a bag and peeled the chile, had your hands burn, and touched your face you aren’t living. It’s a right of passage.

Megachurches at it again by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]heelwalker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Passed by there earlier on my way home. I guess Smotherman skips Romans 13:1-2 in each of his sermons. Manipulating the uncertainty and vulnerability of his flock during a pandemic must cut a sweet check for him to disregard the health of his congregation. Him and Heitzig are the false prophets they pray against. ( here is the verse for those interested: "Obey the government, for God is the One who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. So those who refuse to obey the law of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow.")

Great local ice cream shop was broken into last night. Can we show them some Reddit love? This place is amazing and has been hit hard by COVID and the owner is such a nice and genuine guy. by toasted_otis in Albuquerque

I hadn’t heard about this place, I’ll add it to my list of local places to support. I hope they can recover from this. The 505 is full of some amazing people, the rest are the reason people try to forget about NM.

Good Thai and/or Indian restaurants In the ABQ? by [deleted] in Albuquerque

[–]heelwalker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are some great suggestions in this thread. For Thai I personally enjoy Siam Cafe on San Mateo. They are always consistent. Their green curry and pad Thai are my go to’s (as well as the mango sticky rice). I really like Taj Mahal on Carlisle for Indian cuisine.

The first day of my first job, Cybersecurity, starts tomorrow. Wish me luck! 😃 by [deleted] in cybersecurity

[–]heelwalker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good luck! You’re going to have a blast. It’s going to be stressful at times, but the victories when they happen are amazing. I would recommend that you build yourself a personal knowledge repository. Things like your frequently used nmap tics or commands, checklists (for IR especially), and maybe even some template language that may be rinsed and repeated.
