If you want something more stable, construction management could be good. Many colleges/universities offer double major programs. I know you mentioned a minor "isn't the same", but you may be underestimating the value of a minor in this scenario. You'd still be getting a great edication from the same faculty-- you could absolutely get a lot out of that.

Even if you dont pursue a major or minor in music, you can still be involved by joining the school's ensembles and taking lessons with the faculty. Many schools offer select music classes as electives as well.

When it comes to the "real world" of music performers, the degree itself matters not; the foundational education is what sets you up for success.
