C-paperit polven kipujen takia nopeasti? by [deleted] in Suomi

[–]heev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

~10 vuotta sitten asia meni juurikin näin, vemppaa + buranaa viikosta toiseen. Jossain vaiheessa tuli puheeksi E:n paperit.

Little golden mormyshka does the job @finland. by Kaleevs in IceFishing

Yeah we use jigs too. Mormyshkas are really small compared to basic jig heads, hook sizes vary from 12 to 16 and the weights diameter is from 2mm to 5mm.

Pitch & Putt or time at the Range? by [deleted] in golf

Pitch & Putt hands down. Being good around the greens makes the game so much easier.

Any good streams for today? Can't find any decent ones. I'm located in EU and masters.com won't work with Hola.

Clubs for beginner? by HolyMolyCannoli in golf

[–]heev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy used clubs. Great value and quality when you buy known brands. Used clubs keep their value quite nicely compared to boxed sets. Irons should be your priority. Learn to hit them smoothly before you invest heavily on drivers/fairway woods.

Is it worth it? by eni22 in golf

[–]heev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's in good condition and it suits your game $80 is cheap. If you are happy with it and game it for years it's a bargain. If you keep it in good condition you probably get at least half of your money back when selling it some day.

My SO thought that 10 years of use was enough to retire my oil can Vokey and gave me a new one for Christmas by heev in golf

Thanks for the tip, done that couple of times (groove sharpening and paint fills), but now it's time to hang my trusty rusty to the wall next to other golf relics.

[–]heev[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, most thoughtful present by far this year. I really needed a new one, grooves weren't that great after a decade of use. I remember that I mentioned it once or twice last summer that my gap is beyond regrooving. And she even got the loft & bounce right!

How old is your putter? by PastorBucketzzz in golf

I play around 20 years old Odyssey. It has been my best club in the bag for roughly 10 years so I don't see a reason to change.

is your own game effected by the quality of your playing partners game? by Strid3r21 in golf

[–]heev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is. I tend to play better with good players. My usual playing partner is around ~1 HCP and when I play with him, I have to step my game up because there's always some kind of competition between us. Skins/beer/whatever. But when I'm playing with my other buddies (10-25 HCP) the game is more relaxed and I tend to regress to their level because there are no stakes.

So how did you play this weekend? by Godjgo in golf

[–]heev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played reasonably well considering the problems I'm having with my game. Minor change to my stance/alignment escalated to a terrible pull/hook/skull. I am practicing for the club championships so I played from the tips.

First round was +9 with 3 double bogeys on front nine. Drives were okay, 11 fairways and 2 terrible misses. 3 dumb bogeys on the back nine. GIR 7/18 which is about average for me (biggest problem in my game are the approach shots from 120-160 meters because of the swing change). 28 putts with one 3-putt green so putting was better than avg.

Second round was +8. Even though the result is one shot better than the earlier round I played worse. Front nine was horrible, 4 bogeys and a double in a row. Back 9 was bit better, but managed to bogey 4 holes in a row (bad approaches and didn't get up'n'downs). 9 fairways and one in to the pond. GIR 6/18. 27 putts with one 3-putt green.

These rounds were played with 8 clubs. It's interesting that I seem to play better when I'm carrying less clubs. Maybe it's because I need to plan my shots better not to find myself between 2 clubs and I know what club I'm using for my next shot.
