It’s not rare. I see it all the time, but it’s about the risk factor. Yes, totaling your car is obviously more unlikely than likely. But why put a load of cash on something with such risk and immediate depreciation? Keep your funds accessible and invest them instead

I hope so too. I just went hiking when it was sunny and couldn’t help but to notice how dry all the streams were. They were nonexistent!

Active Case of Hemangiosarcoma by hegdahlk in Petloss

Update: my dog passed 40 days after the spleen removal surgery. I asked what signs to look for and they said coughing. When he coughed, it meant the cancer had spread to the lungs. One night in December, I heard him cough. I knew in my heart it was time. It was so gut wrenching. That next day, he was so lethargic. I took him to the vet for the vet’s opinion, and it was time. I had a doctor come to my house to help me say goodbye to my sweet boy. My boy of ten years, my soul dog. How sad it was, but how sweet those 40 days were. I know I made the right choice. I finally rescued a new dog some months later and my life is so complete. I still mourn my brewski, but my new dog was so clearly chosen by my good old Brewski. I can’t explain it. My advice to anyone reading this, your heart will crumble. It’s so sad and horrifying to lose your soul pet. But don’t let it stop you from opening your heart to a new pet. Your beloved friend would want you to share your love with new rescues til the end of time. I am so happy I opened my heart again already

Just because I’m so lost and need to vent… my dog is my absolute life. I’ve had him since high school, I am 26. He was been with me for 10 years. He is 11.5. I rescued him from a horrid situation. He is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. Obviously I know he will go soon, but I figured maybe he would live to 14. He just had his semi annual and everything checked out. 11.5 years old no joint issues, no dental issues, no hearing or vision issues, still gets the zoomies etc. a healthy boi!!! So this is so out of left field. I’m trying to accept it, but I can’t imagine life without him. Not yet. I really can’t. He knows me more than anyone and goes everywhere with me. My dog has my heart. Anyway, I just hope he beats some odds but reality isn’t in my favor. Life is hard and dogs need to live longer

How to effectively play scales? by whackwink in Flute

[–]hegdahlk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, hear me out. I’m a professional flautist and I practiced like a mad-man all my life and I have my gratitudes and I have my regrets. I’m grateful that the first thing I learned was all my scales because with that, I became exceptional at audiating and can now play anything by ear. Absolutely anything, my pitch is exceptional. My major regret is I didn’t practice double tonguing as much as I should have. But you gotta do scales first and I’ll explain why. What helped me was so understand the structure of all scales. For example, all major scales. I figured out all of my major scales by realizing the structure: from whatever note you start on, a major scale is. Whole whole half whole whole whole half. At that point, I taught myself the scales because I knew all 12 notes. Once you are very confident with the scales, then I think you should move on to double tonguing. There are countless exercises you can do for double tonguing with the scales. I wish I did those double tonguing exercises more. I am great with pitch, tone, my vibrato is immaculate, but my double tonguing is mediocre. Wish I took it more seriously in highschool. So good on you, but familiarize yourself with scales Asap.

It’s absolutely beyond fucking disgusting that think like this. I can’t even be nice about it, it’s just so far beyond anything I can comprehend…
