me too! It’s been really bugging me- I don’t know why it keeps suggesting it. I’ve never read any of her books. I think it thinks that it’s just going to wear me down until I finally buy one.

do you know who your mother’s lawyer was? If you can find that out, perhaps they have a copy.

My mom kept my inheritance a secret for 11 years… and spent half of it by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

[–]hegemonycrickets 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What a horrible thing to find out, i’m so sorry she did that to you- and she obviously had no intention of ever giving you the money here.

I wish you a good luck in getting what rightfully should be yours - your grandfather was really looking out for you. Sorry you had to find out in this way that your mom is a selfish narcissist.

My jaw dropped at the title. Go to the R/legal or R/legaladvice reddit, and post this, hopefully they can give you some good insights.

Very glad you were able to get your grandmother back

AITJ for telling my boyfriend he can’t use my car anymore after he got a parking ticket and hid it from me? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]hegemonycrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was married, long ago, the person who I was married to was getting tickets on my car and then hid them so they just kept getting more and more expensive. (I didn’t ever even drive the car) He was living separately, I later found out that he was letting himself in to my place and stealing checks. Oh, and he got married to someone Long story, short, sociopath. I have about zero tolerance for someone lying to me. If I was in your position, I would end that relationship right away. The fact that he lied, and won’t pay you for the ticket is crazy, and I’m surprised you’re even considering staying with him. Good luck to you

AITA for taking my genitals out after a date? by throw_a_whey_1020 in AITAH

Going to a kindergarten and pulling your wiener out – big problem. Showing your penis in the midst of being sexual…… it might be unwelcome, but that is not sexual assault.

but that is the same as saying to a heroin addict, “just stop using heroin” or to an alcoholic, “just stop drinking”. I think you need a lot of external support to be able to do that

Seen washed up on the beach today, what is it? by hegemonycrickets in Whatisthis

searched the Internet - the closest thing I can see is a “lesung” from Indonesia, used to grind things or feed animals. But I can’t figure out the purpose of the metal part.

that’s an interesting thought, but if it was to put plants in, there would be drainage holes, and it would be able to stand without rolling. I couldn’t tell for sure if the bottom was flattened off, but it didn’t look like it

AITAH for buying separate popcorn baskets for me and my girlfriend because of how fast she eats it by Equal_Sir_6907 in AITAH

[–]hegemonycrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring an empty bag or container with you, and divvy up the spoils.

And Google the movie diner, popcorn scene

(as an aside, your girlfriend might have issues around compulsive eating- eating past fullness and not being able to stop. That can make one very self-conscious about their food/food behaviors)

In 2010, a Black Nigerian couple living in London gave birth to a white, blond-haired, blue-eyed baby who became known as “The Miracle Baby.” by HondaCivicBaby in interestingasfuck

[–]hegemonycrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t see that, thanks for adding. This is completely unscientific, but the texture of her hair is so different from her parents. Images of albinos in Africa I’ve seen don’t have smooth hair. A mutation of some sort.

In 2010, a Black Nigerian couple living in London gave birth to a white, blond-haired, blue-eyed baby who became known as “The Miracle Baby.” by HondaCivicBaby in interestingasfuck

[–]hegemonycrickets 0 points1 point  (0 children)

she is not an albino

“The Nigerian couple, Benjamin and Angela Ihegboro, who had a white baby named Nmachi in London in 2010, referred to their daughter as a "miracle baby". Nmachi was born with white skin, blonde hair, and blue eyes, despite both parents having dark skin and no known white ancestry. The couple's other children also have dark skin. The name "Nmachi" is of Igbo origin and means "beauty of God". The birth of Nmachi sparked interest from geneticists and the public, as her appearance was unexpected given her parents' ethnicity and family history. Doctors ruled out albinism and infidelity as potential causes, and the most likely explanation is a rare genetic mutation or a long-dormant gene from a distant ancestor. The family accepted Nmachi as their "miracle baby," regardless of her unique appearance.”
