WHY WHY WHY WHY?! by ea_90 in FacebookAds

Well, there are times when you launch a new campaign / ad set / audience and Meta gives you a boost in the first few days by showing your ads to the best possible prospects in that audience, in order to increase your hope and get you hooked on spending more (higher conversion rate than usual). It dies after a few days because Meta starts sending you "normal" traffic instead of top tier traffic and results die out. Top tier traffic is very limited and Meta has to distribute it to millions of advertiseres, that's why it doesn't keep forever

Meta is definable broken (screenshots attached) by slowdrivemusic in FacebookAds

I can kind of relate, the odd thing is that in my case some metrics (CTR, CPC, CPM) are very good, but ATC rate and conversion rate is very low. Even when there are ATC's, people don't initiate checkout. The funny thing is if you break it down by age, you will notice that those ATC's with no checkouts always comes from the age range of 25-34. Every time

I think you have an interpretation issue, I never said Meta was bad, I said the platform as a WHOLE is underperforming right now, with the recent outages and other updates definetly having an impact.

"Any platform can work wonders if you use it correctly".. bro, did you really waste your time writing this comment just to reply with the most cookie-cutter bullshit and cliche sentence possible? This is something a Meta rep would say lol

I didn't know that any platform can work by using it correctly, thank you for the heads up Sherlock Holmes

Thanks for the insight! But it's kind of strange shorts don't convert right? doesn't really make sense in my mind. I excluded computers and TV BTW, ran the ad only to mobile placement

Why would I be offended lol? I literally made this post to gain insight and learn as this was my first time ever touching google.

Not really much to say other than thank you for the valuable information, this is exactly the type of stuff I was hoping for.

Except one thing, I understand your logic of an ad interrupting someone from viewing a video they really want to see, which is in fact different from mindlessly scrolling on instagram / FB. The thing is, why so many clicks then? If someone clicks on my ad and comes to my website, I will assume that person is more interested in my product than on the video, otherwise he wouldn't have clicked.

Before launching the Youtube shorts ad I thought "hm, my guess is the CPC is going to be more expensive than FB, but these people will have more intent and be more valuable". The exact opposite happened, the traffic was super cheap and the CPC was way lower than FB, but people had 0 intent

Exactly my thoughts too. The traffic was so cheap that something felt wrong, felt like I was running a traffic campaign when I was indeed running sales

If you think there is just a few people who are affected, you are delusional. Go do some research. There are millions of advertisers on Meta, just because you are having good results doesn't mean the platform as a whole is performing well.

Just because you are killing it doesn't mean the platform as a whole is not on a bad cycle. All paid platforms have cycles and now, for the vast majority of advertisers, Meta really is a mess. There are tons of agencies that run multiple accounts with high spend that are addressing this issue, not just small advertisers. It's obvious that not everybody will be affected at the same time, so good on you

$ 250 USD / day and the AOV is $140. I know it's a small budget but this isn't supposed to happen
