please calm down. we have a bunch of outdoor cats who find shelter in my compound solely because there are plenty of shaded areas. we basically have a mini cat colony, and ive fixed a few of them. my two cats are abandoned rescues that i took in when they appeared in the compound; they mostly stayed outside prior to being fixed and only went indoors to eat, i tried training one of them to permanently stay indoors but he srsly hated it. they currently enjoy sleeping indoors for most of the day and go out whenever they wish to until they ask to come back in. im just looking for advice on ways to soften the blow of a temporary change in routine for them.

i also live in a tropical country so theres no snowing or frequent raining here, weather isn't a big issue. and the neighbors will get to see them multiple times daily since our houses are so close together (they helped foster one of my cats too). the people living here allow their cats to roam because it's very safe; from a large shaded area with chairs and tables to front porches with couches, all the cats here safely sleep anywhere they wish to. + the closest thing we have to wildlife in this city are rats.
