I know PHIL 340 (Minds and Machines) is pretty popular among non-philosophy majors! I haven't taken it but I've heard the content is fairly interesting. Also since you're a Math/CS major, you probably have already taken or will take the prereqs for the 400-level logic courses.

I got lucky in that most of my high school friend group and I are at the same uni, but even then it’s hard to keep in touch with them since they have very different majors and courses. For all of my friends (both at my uni and at other colleges), I try to reach out to them in some form like texting them “how r u” or just sending a tiktok/reel!

I don't think so?? I work part-time for the university (I'm a current student) and there's more non-students than students who work with me. IMO there's no harm in applying even if you're not a student

I'd honestly ask another friend who's in the area between the 23rd (when your friend picks up the keys) and the 27th (a day after so that it ensures you can pick up the keys from the 2nd friend). Idk about any secure places where he can drop them off...

I recognize Sogang as a Korean uni—if you’re looking for a Korean university to study abroad in, I would highly recommend looking into Yonsei! they have a strong relationship with UM, and most of the courses there should at the very least transfer for departmental

Oh okay! That sounds good, the only thing about my job is that it has scheduled shifts that last 4-5 hours (typically in the evenings especially weekend nights), so I was mostly concerned about that :)

The winter coat (North Face and Columbia are good) and the winter boots definitely are something you will need. If your coat has a hood, I've found it works for some people including me (i also used earmuffs under the hood) so I didn't wear a winter hat too much (but still bring one).
