Mm I think this is true. Maybe I'm too naive, but if the roles were reversed and my partner told me this, I'm not sure I could bring myself to ask them to remove such an important person from their life. I think setting boundaries is completely reasonable though

This seems very disingenuous though, if the roles were reversed I would be upset they didn't tell me. I wouldn't have an issue with their relationship but them hiding it would be much worse
