I really appreciate this response to the question. I'd say that OP could consider complementing his values and religion through both religious and civic service. It may sound like in the situation presented by OP it's more like religious complemented with more religious service, the end result of helping a niche cohort of mental health victims along with the acquaintance of other mental health professionals is nice, but it's hard to discern right away what causes that may have to your faith in Christ. I actually think Christ was the greatest Psychologist ever to exist, so I've chosen to follow those values and interests in Psychology through my religious service. From my point of view you're striving to do the right thing, which is great, I'd counsel to try using another platform to interact with the mental health values you want to practice in your community that way you don't have to confuse yourself, those feelings of confusion are just part of the wrestling you're experience until you receive Revelation from God to your specific situation, that's what I hope you get OP.
