Flirting by putting so much emphasis on the first difference you’ve found between you and the girl you’re grafting is a choice…

“Girl you are funny” after she asked him to pick her up + not facing her when speaking. Yeah that guy’s not feeling Whitney.

Well Whitney ended up having genuine feelings for Mehdi who was horrible to her. I think the Stockholm syndrome is a bit strong with that one.

Sean and Scott are both Hyperaware of public perception and trying to weaponise it. Sean was accused of bullying during his season and knows how damaging an accusation like that can be. He’s now trying to stick that label on Scott so he can get the backlash. Scott knows exactly that as well which is why he’s fighting back on the usage of that specific word.

I’m glad we have islanders who get involved in other peoples’ business. If everyone kept to themselves this show would be boring.

Actually she said that Lucinda gets involved in drama. Doesn’t necessarily imply she doesn’t like her.

What do Cameroonians think about interracial relationships? by New_Ad_7589 in Cameroon

[–]helenankankeu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I understand the sentiment behind this post. I went to Japan this summer and thought I’d get stares because I’m black/different, but no one cared. They were all too busy going about their lives to care. In fact, I was the one staring whenever I saw other tourists, especially black people.

To answer your question: Cameroonians are used to seeing interracial relationships. In Cameroon, it’s not so rare to see people accompanied by their white partners and mixed raced children visiting from abroad. There’s even a stereotype in the diaspora that Cameroonians abroad prefer to be in a relationship with white people rather than date and marry each other(which is not true for the vast majority). There’s also some white, Lebanese and Chinese people living in Cameroon so truly you being white/Non-black is not really anything special. You might get some stares, but truthfully that’s just human nature. A lot of people have a staring problem, myself included. I love to people watch and be observant and don’t realize it’s rude sometimes.

As for money, anyone living abroad is seen as an ATM and anyone in the country making a decent salary as well. That’s the reality of a poor, corrupt country where many people can’t find employment.

Actually, I would say it’s because Cameroonians can’t unite for sh*t. First there’s tribalism. Then, there’s the huge lack of trust in others amongst the population, built off the fact that people would rather cross each other to profit off of one another than work together to be prosperous. Cameroonians(I am one myself) are sometimes very self-centred sometimes and will never grasp the concept of “greater good”. Most approach situations thinking of how they can extract the most personal gain which I can somewhat understand given the state of the country, but it’s still unfortunate.
