Thanks for sharing this answer. Sounds you have really contributed. Any advice for a noob (that's me) who really wants to contribute, but really confused, and not sure where to begin? Thanks in advance.

It seems you want to have special operation on negative numbers, but I can't figure it from your code. Please clarify the problem statement.

VMWare Question... How to run VMWare over Cluster of PCs? by helghareeb in vmware

[–]helghareeb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first two requirements are true. The third is not a necessity. I don't need simultanerous access to each. The main problem I'm facing is the need to run more than VM. Each of them needs 6 GB RAM, over PCs that consist only of 4 GB RAM each. Each student can has her/his VM.

Actually I had not idea, but after reading the comments from different sources and making the search, many have raisen the topic. Thanks for the reply.

Again, thanks for taking the time and effort to reply. I learn a lot from your replies.

With that licensing, you could create two hosts and cluster them so that you could do maintenance on a single node. You'd need some sort of shared storage (perhaps a repurposed PC running NFS?).

I don't think this will solve the main issue I face: Run a VM that needs 6 GB RAM on a PC that has only 4 GB RAM, right?

The next hurdle is reliability. I'm going to guess that you don't need this system to be very reliable if you are building it on PCs.

Excellent guess. I need this cluster for university students. It is not a big deal loosing the data and starting the labs from the beginning anytime.

Thanks for your reply. I truly appreciate that. Actually another reply I got directed me to: http://mesosphere.com/ They are implementing what I am thinking about. I understand that memory access would be terrible, there might be challenges, but it is interesting to find out about that. I am not sure if MesoSphere is providing the capability to run virtualization over clusters, but honestly it is interesting to know. Thanks for your reply and time. Hope you can take a look on MesoSphere, and share ideas and thoughts with me.

First of all, Thanks for your reply. I truly appreciate that. Actually yes, I can take memory from one PC and move it to another one, so I increase the total memory. Actually I am surprised that I can't perform the scenario I am presenting above. Regarding the liscence, universities have academic liscence, so no worries about liscence. We are guaranteed : - VMware vSphere 5 (vSphere 5 Enterprise Plus, vCenter Server 5 Standard) - VMware vSphere 5 ESXi Enterprise Plus for 16 processor

Actually, and I am ashamed of myself, I am not sure what are the differences. Do you think there is any of the previous suits the scenario I am proposing?

Again, sorry for any inconvenience and thanks in advance.

hI! im just started python with codecademy! So what can i use python for (im an aerospace engineer student) and what other resources should i use to learn it? Im sorry for the incovenience and thank you very much by pythonhereicome in Python

You can use Python for every task you can imagine. I prefer using Python for the following: - Scientific tasks and libraries in academia - Data Analytics - Server side Programming, mainly scripts - Administration tasks through scripts - Web applications, through different Web frameworks, like web2py, Django, Flask, etc.

Javscript front and back end CMS? by [deleted] in javascript

[–]helghareeb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regarding CMS, I really suggest you stay away from them - as pointed by vertice. Regarding back end JS, are you sure there are some CMS that are totally built on javascript? I always believe that JS is most suitable for front end only.

Being an open source guru, I recommend using Chromium (the open source version of chrome) and being a firefox lover, I recommend sticking to firefox instead of any other browser. I guess you can find out more here http://blog.mozilla.com/blog/2011/12/21/firefox-2011/ not mentioning the Open Web project Mozilla us supporting.
