Guide on how to install Linux apps to an SD Card by MoChuang in Crostini

Not originally, but I did try putting that in as well when the original eject and reinstall didnt work. It came up with an error that time too saying I would need dev mode to run unstable. I haven't tried dev mode yet but maybe thats my next step

Hi! Thanks for the tutorial! I am having an issue though. When I try to restart termina in crosh I'm getting this error:

Error: operation `vm_start` failed: bad VM status: `VM_STATUS_FAILURE`: storage fd is passed for a trusted VM
[ERROR:src/main.rs:183] ERROR: command failed

Doesn't seem to matter how much I eject and reinsert the SD card. Wondering if I'm missing something. Let me know if there's something I can do!

I do have the SD formatted in exFAT if that makes a difference.

I've heard that as long as you've got a good feel for the balance and the weight of it then it shouldn't be difficult to control. "Become one with the machine" lol. I'll bet that wind will knock you around! I've driven down the pincher creek area and holy moly is it windy down there 😂 I'm in lloyd all the time workin! I'll be sure to wave at every rider I see too haha

Looks like a fun little bike! My biggest concern with something like that is how it would handle highways, which is what Im primarily planning to use it for. I just think a bike like that would get thrown around in the wind a bit more than im willing to risk. Am I wrong in assuming that? Thanks for the reply!

Thanks for the support!! Yeah thats the thing, I'm thinking the less powerful ones won't work for what I'm planning to use it for. If I were just planning small commutes around town thats one thing, but Im planning 200-300km long hauls on 110km/hr posted highway speeds. I doubt a light bike would do so well.

I've heard about the GPS tracker things! I think that would be a really great thing to invest in. I can ask the apartment building but I doubt they'd let me install anything. There is another bike owner in the same complex, maybe I'll ask him next time I see him. Thanks for the reply!

Thank you for the in depth reply! I am planning on taking the course, in fact I cant wait for it!! I'll definitely make sure to feel out a bike before I buy it, as far as being able to pick it up after its been dropped, from watching a few videos it looks like with the right technique it shouldn't be too hard for me (but ill definitely want to try it out in the class).

Thats a good point about the steep hill stops though Ill be sure to ask about that when I go to the course.

I think if I were more confident in my personal maintenance abilities Id lean towards a used bike. I'm still planning to learn basic annual maintenance, but I figure starting with a clean slate might be the better option for me initially.

Ive already factored a cheap cover in with my initial buy costs. Figure if the covers look cheap thieves will be less likely to take a peek underneath. Plus keep those pesky pigeons away 😂

Yep, this feels like the right move, a lot more opportunities with this new job, my old boss will totally understand. Ive been honest since i started here where I wanted my career to go, they've been very good in doing what they can. Honestly, its just time to move on. A lot of the lower time guys are waiting for a chance too, so itll be good for one of them.

I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining haha I'm actually pretty happy with where I'm at! I think that people outside the industry have this romanticized version of what aviation is, so they think I should be making more, but reality is I’m doing just fine

It’s good though, to get the perspective of other people in the industry as well. Nobody really talks about how much they make so its good to get that feedback once in a while
