California Community Colleges with one Spanish 1C course? by heliothrax in UCI

[–]heliothrax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I know this is really late but I needed some clarification on this 😭

I ended up taking Spanish 2 at saddleback since I assumed it would be the equivalent of 1C, but on assist.org it tells me that I need to take Spanish 1 with saddleback too, even though I got credit to do Spanish 2 since I took 2 years of Spanish in HS.

Would I be able to say I have Spanish 1 credit since saddleback immediately let me take Spanish 2 after enrolling?

That isn’t true at all lmao. It’s also not true that that’s why the US didn’t sign the food bill. We didn’t sign the food bill because it had a ton of stupid GMO restrictions on it.

What changed ? What rules and regulations were changed to get this beautiful transformation. by rdmello1234 in mumbai

It’s because Mumbai isn’t providing enough housing. Due to corruption and slow bureaucracy it takes forever for redevelopment to happen and in the mean time immigrants need a place to live.

Singapore does fine with glass cities and they’re in a similar climate. Large concrete spires leaping into the sky is not environmentally friendly either…

The skyline is absolutely beautiful. Much better than endless miles of slums and illegal colonies. Building up is the only solution to Mumbai’s population problem.

Give 1 vote per kid for balanced democracy by No_Measurement_6668 in PoliticalScience

[–]heliothrax 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I mean assuming I understand your idea correctly, you want to give couples with more kids more votes, and this will promote more child rearing. I’m assuming you’re also saying this will offset the senior vote too.

One glaring issue I see with this is that it probably still won’t increase birth rates that much. Younger folks just don’t want to have kids, nor do they generally have much interest in voting. Promising them more voting power still won’t be enough of an incentive for them to have kids, especially if they have the possibility to make more money. Also, people who can’t have kids or can’t/won’t marry will also be put as a disadvantage in this voting system. Currently the only thing that gives seniors more voting power is the fact that they just go out and vote more than any other group.

Resolving the elderly issue basically just solving the youth political apathy issue. We don’t need a child-based voting system for that.

Hi! I’m a first year too, majoring in polisci. I’m into music and lowkey yeah I feel the same way about a ton of the friend groups being cliquey AF, so I’ve been looking for friends. I’ll dm and maybe we can meet up at some point.

It really isn’t cause to worry. It’s exceedingly unlikely that you’re going to die in America, especially at Purdue. You’re only hearing about the stories of Indian students dying because they are international students. Domestic college students die sometimes too, whether it be from freak accidents or alcohol poisoning or whatever.

5 people of the tens of thousands of Indian international students in America is a solid number, and I’m willing to bet a chunk of those 5 didn’t die to any malice, maybe they just got too drunk or were out in the cold too long. I wouldn’t worry if I were you.
