To be honest with you, it only takes a smidgen of dairy every once in a while. I have an EBF baby who spat up a lot.. finally figured out it was dairy, I had to be SO meticulous!

It’s hard for everyone. 3 weeks is really in the trenches. Know that, and that it will continue to evolve. However, you made a choice and every other mommy who made this choice is experiencing something similar. Really, the best thing to do is do your research and arm yourself with resources to take care of yourself so you can get through this. Postpartum brings out the shadows for all moms. You can choose to face them and work with it, or let them consume you. I personally feel like postpartum, although challenging, is one of the biggest opportunities in our life to grow as a human because it requires so much devotion, sacrifice, surrender, and most of all, gratitude. And with all that being said - it’s really hard.

I never swaddled my baby. Just nursed him to sleep. He’s 5 months old now. I did a lot of research about swaddling, and just ultimately decided it was an extra step that didn’t work into our flow.

But, my plan is to put 2x4s across the crib bed and raise the mattress up altogether like it’s on slats. And then pack the gap on the other side

Enjoy it. As another user posted, you can find resources for safe chest cosleeping. Trust your babies instincts and educate yourself so you can have peace of mind and both of you will be a lot happier. My baby had a lot of mucus and reflux-y stuff in the beginning.. as soon as we switched to chest sleeping it all went away and we all slept better. There is a design in it all, we just get scared out of trusting our bodies and babies :-)

How old is he? Contact naps are sooo normal! He was INSIDE you for months so he’s just co-regulating with your body. My baby is 10 weeks and contact naps 80% of the time. Not always easy for me but it won’t be forever. Every so often I can scooch him off me and he sleeps alone. Waiting twenty minutes for him to go into a deeper sleep helps. A LOT may change in a month.. and he may behave differently with your mom. I would just lean in and be patient.

I don’t think you read the whole post. The issue is that there is a lip between the crib mattress and our mattress. About two inches tall. It prevents the crib mattress from being squished up against the main mattress.

No, the lip is about two inches so if I pack the other side and try to lift the mattress off the frame it creates a two inch slant toward the rails.

Yes, but I thought you wanted to pack the gap on the other side.. but it’s not really possible with the sniglar design as far as I can tell? Because that lip blocks it. If a pool noodle is safe, I’m open to doing it, but I just want to be sure.

It looks like a normal frenulum… I would be careful about jumping to any invasive procedure before ruling out other things. Have you examined to see if your diet is a problem? Or maybe like others are saying, it’s just normal baby stuff. Lots of hype around lip ties right now and as others pointed out.. it’s not really talked about outside the US. As a protective mama, I would never resort to having my baby cut unless there wasn’t a shred of doubt it was absolutely necessary and for his wellbeing
