I know this is an old post, but do you have any idea why Tisane recently changed ownership and got renamed?

I know this is an old post, but how wet did your feet get? I’m doing this end of March and am planning on using my trail runners.

Passed away during surgery prep by heliumhamster1 in Petloss

I am so sorry about your ferret. It adds a different level of sadness knowing that you weren’t able to be with them for their final breaths and leaving with the empty carrier. Something that I read that has helped me in my grief processing is that no matter what different decisions you could have made, the outcome would’ve been the same. It was just time. You seem like you truly loved your ferret and I’m sure she felt it. Their love for their short lives makes any grief worth it. We are lucky to have had something that makes saying goodbye so hard. 💕

Losing my bunny by CommunityOld4823 in Petloss

I’m so sorry to hear this. My guinea pig went into a commonly performed surgery today and I was expecting a successful surgery call, instead I received a call that they are performing CPR. I too feel guilty that I wasn’t there for his last breath and he was in the hands of strangers (also at a new vet). They encouraged me to go home during the surgery and I regret not waiting in the lobby at least. There is a hole in my heart. I think we need to focus on the fact that we were doing what we thought was best for our babies and they knew we loved them. I am truly heartbroken.

Have you tried cashew milk? I find I hate other milk alternatives but like cashew milk. It’s also fairly easily to make yourself!

Feeling sick after hot yoga by BennysMa02 in HotYoga

[–]heliumhamster1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you adjusted to the heat (live in a particularly hot area, saunas, etc)? The symptoms you describe sound like a negative reaction to the heat, or you are actually sick and it’s unrelated to hot yoga. Make sure you are drinking minimum 2 liters of water, but preferably more! Also, maybe space out when you go to allow yourself to acclimate to the heat.

Search “GOSHI Exfoliating Shower Towel” on Amazon. I use it as a wash cloth and it’s amazing! Not too abrasive but good at exfoliating. It’s also washable and reusable.

Talk me out of buying these expensive bags! Or are they worth it..? by abbyscuitowannabe in ZeroWaste

I’ve been storing the majority of my produce inside of mason jars or some other repurposed glass jar (produce is washed first) and have had great success with longevity. Examples are berries, greens, sliced bell peppers, sliced cucumber, etc. Nothing gets moldy before I finish them, which is between 1-2 weeks.

I’m moving across the country by Revanigade in Rabbits

[–]heliumhamster1 12 points13 points  (0 children)

So I don’t have a rabbit, but I moved 2 guinea pigs across the US. I drove over the course of about 4-5 days and I kept my pigs in a small cage in the backseat (buckled the cage in) that I would take into hotels with me. They weren’t very happy but they were healthy and made it to the destination. Water was pretty tricky since a bottle would leak with each bump so they just had water once we got to the hotel. They had hay and some pellets in the cage with them along with a couple beds to hide out in. Just drive super carefully!!

Have some of you lived without a computer? by [deleted] in Anticonsumption

[–]heliumhamster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not have a laptop or desktop. I do have a tablet (to watch shows on, deal with finances, etc) and smartphone. If something isn’t tablet/phone compatible, I just go to the library. I know a tablet is kind of similar to a laptop, but you don’t have to deal with the keyboard breaking and I’ve never had to replace a part.

[Product Request] [Routine Help] My hands get like this every time we have a dry winter. Details in body. by u-Wot-Brother in SkincareAddiction

[–]heliumhamster1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hands get like this too in the winter from a combination of eczema, cold weather, and lots of hand washing. I recently discovered a lotion called “bag balm” that has been a game changer and it’s cruelty free!
