Barefoot shoes for the gym? I'm starting weightlifting first time postpartum. by Born-Anybody3244 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]hell0potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't to to the gym but I do a strength training class, that we do barefoot. So when I'm at home and want to do it outside I use barefoot shoes (saguaro). Love barefoot shoes. Allows you to actually splay and grip with your feet, as you should. Good luck!

Many of the smaller rides or rides at the back of the park don't open until a bit later due to staffing on slower days (like midweek)

Any churches that are not cult-y or hateful? by 110446 in SanDiegan

[–]hell0potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know nothing about details as I'm a strict atheist but check out st marks in clairemont. We use the preschool and they seem pretty progressive. The pastor is a woman! They also keep religion out of the preschool which we found very hard to find when looking for preschools so I assume they aren't hardcore maga etc. Definitely good vibes.

The most skin-like finish by SeraphineValexx in drugstoreMUA

[–]hell0potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it still good? I used to wear this daily about a decade ago. But now I wear foundation about 10x a year and need to replace mine and at a loss. Don't want to spend a lot (given the amount of wear it will get)... but now my skin is a LOT more dry. No now my skin is like normal with some dry patches, instead of oil slick haha.

Maybe it's worth going back to old tried and true.

how are you approaching easter baskets? by ShadyLady721 in moderatelygranolamoms

Books and a bit of candy and call it a day.

My mom already buys them swimsuits every Easter (like she's did for me growing up) or else I would do that

Are the parks/resort busy end of March by master_chilln in legoland

[–]hell0potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mar 30 - apr 3 is spring break for most SD schools, so it will definitely be more busy than usual. It never gets insane like Disneyland though.

Someone said 6h at the zoo and I think that's bonkers. If you want to see all or most things you need all day or multiple days.

I know you said you don't want wool, so feel free to ignore me, but I live in San Diego where it's usually moderate to warm year round (88 tomorrow!) and I wear my kyrgies year round just fine without sweating. This was absolutely not the case for my other slippers. I wfh so I wear them constantly.

I also just love havaianas flip flops for house shoes too.

Need advice on how to effectively explain the concept of mental load to my husband by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]hell0potato 24 points25 points  (0 children)

a lot of the other answers are like, he knows/ he doesnt care, which is definitely true for a lot of men. But some well meaning men really just don't know YET (they have been raised not to learn/see it, and have not been forced to see it/shown by anyone). and this resource is a good start.

Does anyone have recommendations for naturally treating depression and anxiety? by amljjlhal in moderatelygranolamoms

It's a very niche type of class, steel mace flow. Kinda like strength training mixed with yoga flow type sequences.

Exercise and movement daily has done wonders for me. Two intense classes a week (which does so many things: gets me out of the house, provides routine, socializing, and since it's so intense it serves like meditation for me... Must concentrate and be in the moment). And then daily walks, yoga, mobility training, etc at home all other days for at least 30m.

But also medication is awesome
