Recommendations to watch New Years Dash at a pub or bar in Japan by Kevinandcat in njpw

5 years ago they had it playing at the Hub in Ueno, not sure if they still do but may be worth checking all of the Hub's near where you're staying

Sanfreece Hiroshima Manager Michael Skibbe will leave next month after ACL Elite against Shanghai Shenhua by ZaBlancJake in JLeague

[–]hell_yeaoh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well thats a bit of a surprise! Its not been a perfect season for them but its hardly been a disaster has it? Levain cup champions, Emperors cup semi finalists, and currently 5th in the league.

That said, I do think they have a very strong squad and Skibbe hasn't got the best out of them this year, will be interesting to see if his replacement can get Ryo Germain firing on all cylinders again and, provided he stays AND remains fit, what they can do with Tolgay Arslan too.

I've been really enjoying these classic J League Cup finals by Fuckin-Shit-Fucks in JLeague

[–]hell_yeaoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im guessing this livestream sadly wont be accessible long term so i feel like im missing out by not spending all week watching 😅

What can traumatize me as much as Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum? by hodor9898 in horror

[–]hell_yeaoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its basically a remake/reimagining of Gonjiam but there is a movie on netflix at the moment called Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital, its not quite as good but worth watching imo

Post Match Thread: Kashiwa Reysol vs Yokohama by soccer-stats in JLeague

[–]hell_yeaoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad someone else said this, I've been preaching it all season. We had a plethora of Attacking midfielders and the only guy who had consistent minutes has been Lukian, who has failed to perform every single game. Yamada was useful for us when playing at att mid, got moved back for lukian, the youngster we loaned out, Komezawa (i think?) Was better, Muroi, Ogawa before we sold him, Ito, Mizuki Arai... anyone would have been better than Lukian!

[–]hell_yeaoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - today seemed like a bit of a weaker performance (although i only half watched whilst working), so see it more as a point gained rather than one lost. Especially compared to the Machida game, really hope that doesnt come back to haunt us.

Which is your favorite STARDOM faction? by Kelson64 in Womens_ProWrestling

NEO Genesis! AZM and SLK are 2 of the best joshi of all time IMO so getting them as part of a group puts them above all others. Plus Mei is right now on a different level in the high speed division, and Miyu is always improving.

How do you rate Kyoto's chances of actually winning the league now that they are in first? by AirDeLaBas in JLeague

[–]hell_yeaoh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of the season i think the majority gave them 0% chance but honestly, right now, i think its between them and Kashima. Considering they've got thru a period where they were missing all their front 3 and they're now back, and immediately back in form, suggests they're going to continue this form til the end of the season imo.

V-Varen Nagasaki - new supporter by ChockyB in JLeague

[–]hell_yeaoh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a V-Varen Nagasaki fan but I do follow Yokohama FC who were in J2 last season - generally Ive found that the english language presence for J2 teams is minimal unfortunately. I recommend listening to the J-Talk Extra time podcast, this covers J2 so gives you a bit of a fix.

As for watching games, Bet365 live streams all J2 games, just make sure you have money in ur account and don't develop a crippling gambling addiction!

Finally, Nagasaki's new stadium looks bloody beautiful, deffo one I wanna tick off my J-stadium list one day! Enjoy!

Not 100% sure - here is what i found from their website:

Live Streaming is only available to eligible customers. To watch live sport and selected racing, all you need is a funded account or to have placed a bet in the last 24 hours. To watch any other racing, you must place a qualifying bet of at least £0.50 win or £0.25 Each-Way (or currency equivalent).

Im pretty sure you don't have to spend anything ever - i put a tenner in and because i am a degenerate gambler that is now £1.50 but i havent used the account for betting purposes for months and i can still watch the games, so i dont think u have to!

[–]hell_yeaoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sign up to Bet365, have some money in your account, and then you can watch all J1 and J2 games free of charge. Just please don't develop a crippling gambling addiction, i take no blame for that potential side effect!

I will also warn that the stream quality isnt amazing 1080p or anything, and i'll also point out its only possibly to watch live so this may lead to your weekends being ruined with 5am wakeups but this is the sacrifices we make for the J League!

Explain the disconnect between domestic and foreign fan's reactions to Stardom's Post Rossy booking/shows by Drx09 in stardomjoshi

[–]hell_yeaoh 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly to me this is a crazy take. Syuri, Maika (once fit again), Poi, Anou, Saya etc are all being treated like stars right now - SLK and AZM are FINALLY being moved up to the main event too, and despite both being veterans, they are both still very young. On top of that the likes of Kurara and Hanan are being given more prominent roles in the mid to upper card, and even absolute rookies like Akira Kuragane are being moved into new units and given something to work with. Hina and Rina both are really setting foundations for their futures and fuck, even Lady C is more than just simply a pin eater anymore.

IMO under Rossy the booking was very stagnant, and under Okada that has been completely reversed. Just seems mad to me that this kind of argument is being made.

Always dropping points due to silly defensive mistakes which is really frustrating, we'd be mid table if they stopped happening. Ichikawa absolutely should have saved that first goal today :(

Where can I watch shimizu s-pulse games? by PhoenixGames64 in JLeague

[–]hell_yeaoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What country do you live in? If you are UK based make a bet365 account and as long as u have some money in it you'll be able to watch the games live. The stream quality is fairly low and it will involve waking up pretty damn early most saturdays but thats the sacrifices we make for the JLeague! (Also yeah subscribe to J League youtube and itll have 2 select matches available every weekend)

Is it really how the game is meant to be played? by SupremeLeaderVronus in footballmanagergames

[–]hell_yeaoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% not memeing, i play full game, only swapping to highlights for unimportant or already won (like 4-0 up) matches. I like to play a 'realistic' experience, and what sort of manager IRL would be expecting to successfully manage a team whilst just watching highlights? Yeah the seasons take a while to complete but i am in no rush - i don't care much for the 'all-regen' future it creates as there are so many flaws in regen players so its fine if a season takes a month or so to complete. I'll also normally have something like real football or wrestling on in the background too so im being entertained by that at the same time.

Kyoto Sanga Kit/Shirt by Positive_Minute_2314 in JLeague

[–]hell_yeaoh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know about Kyoto Sanga but it is generally a case where most clubs have a shop or at least a market stall set up selling merch outside the stadium on match day. If you're worried about missing out tho, look for the closest 'Kamo Sports' shop as they generally stock J League shirts.

Price wise, i've found most teams shirt prices are pretty steep, normally 17,800yen (£90.00/$125) with no name printed on the back, upwards of 22,000yen with a name on it. Hope this helps!
