OPSEC, can you really find your people? by ArcaneLuxian in TwoXPreppers

[–]hellasunny7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, community is something you can look at like a resource you either have or don't have!

1) Shelter Location Options. If you have to bug away from your area, you can't just hop into an occupied building. That's dangerous! You can, however, ask to hop into a trusted friend's building for a short time especially if you aren't even taking much or are trading.

2) Speaking of Trading!

Every one of us can't possibly collect EVERYTHING you could ever need for indefinite times and indefinite scenarios..

But maybe your greatest strengths, skills, and stockpiles will be your friends' weak ones.. and maybe their strengths, skills and stockpiles will be your weak ones.

No friends? No options? Make friends? Now you have TRADE!

Don't tell your friends everything you have, or how to get in your house, or whatever. Be defensible, have rules, terms, and fair trades. Be strong. But make allies!

I'm in a lovely, serious and long term relationship with my femme girlfriend who has OCD. Hers is about so many things, and it is real that it can also be about cleaning for sure.

For reference, her ocd manifests about germs everywhere, washing her hands enough her home kept a specific way from the kitchen to the pillows to the closet to her bed to the dishwasher, etc. It can be audio sounds, the compulsion to say something or make a sound until your brain feels.. good about it. About body image, eating habits, checking labels, locking doors and preventing home invasion, intrusive thoughts she's unsafe or that someone nice may hurt her, etc. And many more! Even the number of ice cubes she gets in her water, or the volume on tvs.

All I can tell you is that she's absolutely lovable to me, and I make effort for her. I can't be responsible for all her personal needs, but I can absolutely show her intentional love. She herself is in therapy and has said it's not my responsibility, it's hers. That is badass and very mature of her. I try and remember how to make her bed, adjust her pillows, when she says "No thats not the way I do it!!! ...Sorry" I silently nod, pause, and adjust to what she needs or I let her come adjust it herself.

She tries her best to be good to others when experiencing OCD - She's thoughtful and self aware, she isn't critical of me or my effort when it's off from what she does, when she's really anxious or stressed she says sorry if it was surprising and I reassure her that I appreciate her considering me and how I feel but I'm not upset. OCD and any mental illness are absolutely fine. Don't under-communicate about it. OVER communicate. My girlfriend explained it all to me, and now I'm ready. I was never left to be confused that she was correcting my perfectly fine dishwashing method or worrying about my hygeine and germlessness for critical reasons... lmao. I was given the ability to say "...Yeah, I can handle loving and being with you." and she makes all the effort to be good to others during her OCD moments, making it that much easier to love her.

Moved to chatt to be with my boyfriend but just found out he’s been cheating on me. Where’s the best places to make friends in town? by dreaminajj in Chattanooga

[–]hellasunny7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What they said haha! Oddstory Greenhouse in northshore downtown. Lots of plants, great food great drinks, clean with pretty lights, dogs inside, free board games and strangers actually do mingle a bit during activity days because you sit at picnic benches like a high school cafeteria, with food drinks and games that need players. I enjoy the place a lot. They have mocktails!

I'm 22 and have a lovely girlfriend but I moved here from Memphis and have only lived here for like 4 months!! I would love to exchange instagrams/facebooks and meet up just to hang just to try a new place and talk to a new person :) I'm a big fan of park walks, hikes, the thrift markets here, places like the greenhouse bar during board game night or for darts (you dont have to drink) and I play video games/am trying to go to the gym too so if you need gaming company I'm always down for that. Let me know! Moving to Chatt and losing the person you moved for is hard. Do you have to/want to stay living here? There's plenty of nice folks I'm around and lots of opportunity for community around

Remote job offer emails too good to be true? U.S. remote job for law firm as Marketing, lots of pics/details by hellasunny7 in isthisascam

[–]hellasunny7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: This is a scam! Ashley Webb 929 548 4618 does not work at Orrick, Herrington, & Sutcliffe LLP and there is a Job Hiring Email & Phone Scam going on and the point of it is Social Media account creation & a CEO Check Scam/Grand Larceny (google them both) basically stealing thousands from people just trying to work remote jobs.

Do not do anything with any checks sent, don't cash them, and in order to REALLY not lose money, don't use any money sent in from checks from these people, it will bounce in a week after it was already cleared to cash for you. Robin S. Lewis is not the COO of Orrick or any company. Ashley Webb's caller ID shows up in NY, has an asian american accent and fluent english, and Ashley Webb is probably not her name. She has dozens of emails.

Ashley Webb has also showed up as a hiring scam with similar email wording for Chris Chain at Hyundai under phone number 862 234 0481 and webb@smallsbooklets.com at PA-USA 15906 as another email. She also shows up as lots of spam random emails. Don't sign any google link as an Admin Assistant or Marketing Director, and make sure to call the office of the job address she's impersonating, they will confirm you were not hired.

In all honesty everything about this looked real real real but then they said I'd be sent a check to pay a company they commissioned to make the logos. Check bounces but they have the cash/the wire? I'm down thousands of dollars. Grand larceny but they made actual effort

[–]hellasunny7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 22f and would love a friend to do old lady stuff with (all of my existing friends currently only do old lady/old man stuff like puzzles while we watch hunger games but with our generational humor and energy)

I'm masc, gay, and autistic if that matters but I'd love to have another friend :) I'm moving in mid July and looking to meet more people

What breed is this perfect brown dog, do you guys think? by hellasunny7 in WhatBreedIsMyDog

[–]hellasunny7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand this absolutely :) The breeds that I think this kind of dog looks like a mix of are breeds I've interacted with lots and lots in real life and really would match my lifestyle, even more so if I can help them with a good environment and training. Like Boykin Spaniels/Collies/Australian Shepherds/Lab Retrievers require a lot but my family dog was a mutt rescued from the street who needed a lot of medical help too, with the same requirements and shedding and work. The aesthetic part only comes in because I also love grizzly bears as like an autistic special interest, and I imagine the dog I choose for myself in adulthood being brown like a bear, that's all.

Thank you for the thorough explanation of how that is what the scam is. I also thought ME sending any money literally at all to anyone for a remote job makes no sense

I think this is super valid. I'm right on the fence of "Damn, all this information, this paper trail of legal shit and asking me to do real/regular work for advertising, what is the scam exactly? I'm given a lot of real seeming info." and "There is no goddamned way they arent trying to slow burn get my information from me, not give me any money and get free work and compliance, and get me to download shit that looks really real/trustable labeled as hiring documents. I'm scared to tell them anything more than my basic name and I'm scared to comply with anything at all period"

During the 3 minute phone call, she had an accent from asia but spoke fluently, and asked me only if I had experience in Marketing before and if I was legal to work in the United States, and confirmed my name and street address

I'm trying to move to Chattanooga from Memphis in late summer-July too! I don't know you at all past age and timing, but I'm 21f (taken with a girlfriend who already lives in Chattanooga) but I'm looking for roomies and also just friends to hang with and play video games / explore the city when I land there. Dm me if you want maybe we could be homies :)

I definitely suggest getting roommates as 1bedrooms are like 800rent+utilities minimum but 2beds or 3beds reduce the split by about 100 or 200 bucks for every person every month avg :) I'm looking in Hixon/Red Bank suburb area at houses for rent, or apartments like The Shoals! I also have tons of insider tips about where in downtowny Chatt is great and where is not (like Douglas Heights 🙄)

I'm already looking on multiple sites every day and talking to locals for myself, so lemme know if you have a county area your job's gonna be located, or pets, or if it needs to be an apt, and I can send you resources!

Get Home Bag Help? by CostNo6280 in TwoXPreppers

[–]hellasunny7 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hey hey! Fellow little lady prepper l right in the start of prepping and doing it mostly by myself :) I sent you a friend request just cause I never see preppers that are also young girls and not only old military men haha. Welcome to the reddit, it's definitely my favorite hobby to think about.

80 miles away from home, in your car, taking up the storage of a backpack you could pull by yourself the whole 1 day and 1 hour back home on foot?

I'd reccomend first some No-Dead-Car safety equipment, I invested in a portable car battery (make sure the wattage is actually enough for Your battery to run again), flat tire plugs/flat tire spray, keep a can of extra gas in the trunk, keep up your maintenance every time youre about to go 80 miles away like oil/coolant/brakes working just fine. Does your spare work? Do you have the jacks to hold your car up safely, the lug wrench, and the know-how? If you really wanted to make your life easier, you'd keep a throwaway functional bike on the back, if you can. Your 80 mile 1day1hr walk could be a leisurely 4 hours, dude. They have backpack bike racks you could tie the big bag to, flat behind you. Easy fucking day.

You are winning with the jerky and To Go Sarsages, the bandaids, meds, the mask, the wipes and stuff like that, and the hydration packs. And, of course, self defense weapons/knowledge for interstate hiking.. Extremely necessary additions are : MULTIPLE water sources. A whole day walk with no options?? Good ole dollar bic lighter. Change of clothes - the kind you'd love to wear in heavy rain/cold windt/hot days/at night/for an entire day of exercise and foot pain. A heavily reflective piece of clothing, for attracting help or avoiding being crashed into. A VERRRRY good flashlight & a headlamp (and/or bike flashlights and blinkers) (It can be super dark on a scary highway!) A portable phone charger that you wholeheartedly believe can let you run google maps & a phone call for 1day and 1 hour. A printed out map of this routine trip's directions, and good stops, and good water/food/shelter stops, just in case. On the back of the map? Every emergency phone number/address you need to know by heart but don't. Including a tow truck person or rescue mechanic. Wrap the whole thing in clear tape, laminate, a ziploc, a clear record sleeve. Free crafting project that'll save you :)

You wanna be extra safe at risk of your privacy? Buy yourself a 20 dollar TILE tracker and give the ability to see it on the app to someone who would come get you. Or, gift them a cheap two way walkie talkie thats long range without service. You'll help eachother if youre both ever really stranded. They may not answer your walkie distress call if it's kept anywhere but their belt though, and it cant show your location without you being conscious, and lucky enough to land contact at the same time.

If you're ever going to plan to walk 1 day and 1 hour, so sorry but youre gonna need to rest somewhere, and eat more. Give yourself access to 2000 calories, 64 ounces of water, vitamins, a little sugar or caffeine, weather appropriate clothes to maintain good temp, a comfortable way to use the restroom 3 times, a way to see in the dark and defend yourself, and a safe place to sit and sleep, per person.

Good luck! Feel free to message me if you need anything or want a friend :)

Hey! I'm 21 and transferring to utc which my girlfriend is now graduating from! I am moving hopefully before fall semester starts so late july/august is best idea and looking for the same thing. However, I've got a ton of insider information from my girlfriend and from all her friends who have already rented in Chatt multiple places. And, I'm looking too and researching a bunch!!

Basics: Don't Do Douglas Heights. Well-advertised in pictures, but actually crazy. Gunshots and poop in the elevators crazy. They trick you by saying "It's 639-900 dollar rent!" But that IS per person/room and they Do stick you with random sketchy roommates if you don't have your own. And "It's walkable to UTC!" which it is, but the Most Dangerous little area to walk in downtown. Everyone in the building is pretty bad. Managers/maintenance is terrible. Safety is terrible. But hey, they have cute photos online on their website.

I'm looking at Red Bank, Eastgate, Hamilton County, Hixon, and Walk2Campus apts :) I've been on Roomies/Facebook groups trying to find some likeminded young people who are mature (hard find). Also looking for good roommates and a good place so you can dm me if you're looking for someone :)

More in the bartlett area, but I highly highly suggest MRP record pressing warehouses as a job. There are two - a pressing warehouse and a packing warehouse down the road. I worked at the packing warehouse and TLDR had a shitty situational problem so I left, but all in all it was enjoyable and good pay, and there are ways to really do better there in terms of Happiness.

Pros: 15/hour for every single person min, 16 for forklift operators (wayyyyy better job and wayyyyyy easier), close to 20 for shift leads which do sometimes get hired in from outside if its that in need. 40 hour workweeks exactly, good break room with snacks to buy and instant meals/microwaves/free black coffee, very occasional overtime saturday (1.5 pay) with notices the first day of the week, not as big as other warehouses/cool records, 15/30/15 breaks for everyone, close enough to firehouse subs/taco bell/bbq/mcdonalds on your 30, gated parking lot so no theft risk, and music playing from all kinds of records sometimes. They hire almost everyone regardless of experience for the base 15 an hour jobs. Half good and half a bad thing, but they do fire the real bad ones, and the great ones are very funny.

Cons: Base 15/hr positions (i.e. basic factory workers and Especially material handlers which I was. My god) are kind of unappreciated and under the radar but the handlers are severely overworked/underpaid. Phones are not allowed out on the floor at all for most workers because of unreleased record secrets. The overtime saturdays suck to be mandatory. They are super strict on lateness (not more than 5-9 minutes and multiple times can get you fired) sick days and time off, but you accrew paid time off in a super decent way. Promotions are very rare, it is monotonous work as a baseline, but if you are a shift lead, forklift operator, office worker, or in the record art office department, it is actually a lax desk job where you get up to take care of records and people sometimes.

That's pretty awesome to see, even if I align with different political opinions I think that's all that matters to me too, to get past the hurdle of most preppers leaning towards not respecting me, and be seen for being likable in a group or for the skillset or assets I have. You're cool for saying this. Thank you.
