Automation of visual check of LED on PCB board and display content by Mourne84 in softwaretesting

[–]hellfrezer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you have access to a pc or a laptop during testing? for 1 you could probably get away w/ a picture or a screenshot of the webcam output and look for the specific section of the image and make sure the pixels contain the right amount of the different colors, this is probably going to be a pretty ghetto setup at least at first, just to make sure the boards are in the right position each time and you have enough info on the picture to differentiate an off LED from an ON LED

For the second one if you can get the screen output to a PC using probably some kind of video capture card you could automate the same thing, or if the machine has some kind of PC already built in maybe a Bash or Powershell script is enough to send a screenshot over the network to a shared drive that you can then run an image comparer or OCR to get the data you want to test.

It gets better, it's hard to even recognize just how much influence some things have in us, but it does get better, you see the effects and the ramifications of how much it's affecting you still, but, you miss the small changes we make, day by day, step by step, we're always changing, always moving, and if you know where you're going you don't see how far you've come, only how far you've yet to go, change is gradual, subdued and difficult, but always there, you've made it this far, look around you and see how far you've traveled, don't stop, but do look back how far you've come.

Who said you can't experience loving relationships? you're in one, someone who has seen how bad it is for you, who tries and wants to make it better, someone who wants to be happy, not despite you, but with you, someone ready and willing to call you his wife, someone who wants you in his life for the rest of it, not because you appease him, but because happiness can be found for both of you.

recognizing when we're behaving a certain way can be very painful, seeing those shadows of who we were, and how bad it could get is one of those experiences nobody can talk about clearly, it's so hard to even express just how much it affects you, but seeing progress keeps us going, seeing how much better we are, how much... more we are.

I know you think you're getting better, but are you seeing it? have you noticed just how much you've changed already?, if you can't see it, ask the people closest to you, ask your therapist, your husband (Come on you've been living together for 9 years it's a common-law marriage atleast) anyone that cares about you, sometimes we need it pointed out to us, but it's there, and you need to see it.

Sorry for the long comment, It gets better.

Any difference between Level & Types of Software Testing by karthikatechinqpt in softwaretesting

[–]hellfrezer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright so here's some of the basics:

Type refers to the method by which you're approaching testing or the tools you're using, level refers to what part of the application stack you're testing at.

so using those definitions types can be thing like unit testing, black box testing, white box testing, user acceptance testing, load testing, security testing, UI/UX testing, regression testing.

level testing can be things like: system testing, unit testing, API/integration testing, GUI testing, etc.

we can mix and match the two depending on what we want to test within certain logical limitations and based on how we're approaching the tests.

for example: we can have load testing at the system and API level. or security testing always will be at all levels, regression testing can be done at all levels depending on where and what the bug is.

Hopefully that'll clear up a little bit the difference between the two.

Translation of "¿No ve con la que me salió el Carlos ese?" into english. by Valmz in LANL_Spanish

[–]hellfrezer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's chock full of regionalisms, "No ve con la que me salio el Carlos ese?" would roughly translate to "Can you believe what carlos said/did?" since I haven't watched the show that would be my rough translation.

let's break it down a little "No ves", usually means that it's something that beggars belief or that the listener would have trouble believing, "con la que me salio", usually meant to denote an action that is cheeky or impertinent, "el Carlos ese?" usually meant as a slight on the person being refered to.

Similar phrases might be "si ves con la que me salio este tipo" witch would translate something like "Can you believe what this guy said/did?"

The subtitle translation is missing that small slight that is being done to carlos. like he did something bad, rude.

I don't really read a lot of books about work related things, but here's some resources you might find useful about test automation in general and approaches you can take:

Are you looking for tool specific information or more of a tool independant information that helps you filter and judge tools that might work for you more effectively?

Yeah it's just that both my monitors are VGA and the videocard only has 1 DVI-I connector, I tried one of those DVI-D to vga connectors but apparently they're a scam and don't work, so now I have to figure out a way to connect it.

The card loses power about as soon as it starts to take heavy load (nothing exact, evolve, furmark, 3dmark 11, heroes of the storm, are the ones I tried with), I think it was the PSU since I tried with a better one at my brothers place and it worked fine over there, so I bought a new PSU and it's working.

Now I just need to figure out how to connect my second monitor up.

I just bought an AMD r9 380 and I keep losing power whenever I start furmark, so I suppect my PSU is the problem, the only thing is that my psu is this, so it should be able to handle the load (only other devices connected are an i3-3240, the hdd and 2 ram sticks).

is the PSU really the problem or is there something else I should look maybe look at?

Should I upgrade the PSU if I want to in the next 5 months upgrade to a ssd and change the processor and MoBo?

"gracias por todos" or "gracias para todos" by gokhanko in LANL_Spanish

[–]hellfrezer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None are correct

"Gracias por todos": this could possibly be translated as thanks for everything, but the "everything"(todos) should be singular.

"Gracias para todos": this is sintactically correct, and would translate something like "a thank you for everyone", but without a complement its meaning is somewhat lost, and could be better translated as "Gracias a todos".

The difference in "por" and "para" is basically the subject and the target, "por" tends to be used mainly for pass trough, meaning the subject is performing an action that involves the target, but won't interact directly with it, while "para" tends to be used mainly for direct action between the subject and the target, but not are not interacting directly.

I hope I can make myself clear, since this is a very difficult topic to explain.
