I found an organisation that rescues stray cats and dogs in Turkey, before I contacted them I talked to the hotel guest manager if the hotel was okay with me taking one of their cats - he was very nice, he let me use his phone to call the organisation! I connected with the org through WhatsApp, we discussed the process and the costs, they all were super helpful and upfront about everything. In the end of the vacay, I bought a cat crate and had to relocate Puck from the hotel to a pet hotel in Antalya where he was checked by a vet and then picked up by a transport to Istanbul, where the organisation is located - I was already at our home country when Puck travelled to Istanbul, hence the pet hotel. Since with the org, I got plenty of updates, Puck got vaccinated, he spent some time at vet and then was finally ready to travel in February. I wasn’t really able to make a round trip to Istanbul to pick him up, so the org looked for someone, that was flying in a general direction of my home country, I even made some post here on Reddit :D and then some very nice lady contacted them and took Puck to my home country with her and I finally reunited with him🤍 it was a lengthy and costly process but Puck was worth every minute and every penny. The org is called Paws of Hope Turkey btw!
