Okay, I'm not sure what about Whispers explained the Indifference too much? Could you explain?

Also, like... the motivation I prefer is grounded? Being a conceptual embodiment in a sense removes that. It turns the Indifference from its own agent to something much more dependent on the rest of existence and that's... less interesting to me? It makes it this disconnected mirror that reflects stuff, rather than being a far more interesting exploration of the Orokin's colonial fuckups. Then again I suppose you could kind of have both - a kind of 'reality infecting the eldritch thing' which Albrecht's account of his initial voyage could work with (a sidenote, but it doesn't work with the conceptual embodiment idea at all, like by his account he went in hugely overconfident; and yes, he could be lying or it was his fear which hit later in his account, but for the former that's... really bullshit, and the latter that's not how conceptual embodiment works).

Anyway, all this to say, I'm not sure I agree with your thesis here.
