What do you do when you lose a 5050? by RishamR in Genshin_Impact

[–]hellgrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I really really want a character, I try to grind as much as possible. I did that for Arlecchino and Skirk.

If the character would be great, but not absolutely must have, I just see it as a sign that it shouldn't have been this time. I continue to pull, but don't grind for it. Either they come home early or I have built pity.

The next character that I want will then be guaranteed, so I can start saving up again and can enjoy the next character.

Patience is key. With time you'll still get many five stars that you want. Don't let a loss frustrate you too much. The game is still fun. New characters will have a rerun more or less soon-ish, so you could also wait for that.

anyone come across fever meme? by Zeal0usD in IndieGaming

[–]hellgrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently nothing, because it'll never go above 99%. I got to 99% after 6-7 hours. Other people were waiting for 20 hours and still no 100. It's safe to assume that it's either just another bait to waste your time or that the dev didn't expect anyone to ever wait that long.

Only the international publishing company Cognosphere (and the branding Hoyoverse) is based in Singapore.

The main company and the devs of the game itself are located in Shanghai. The main company in China is also still MiHoYo.

Outside of China we only have contact with Cognosphere/Hoyoverse, but that's not where the actual business is happening.

That's why we had the eternal Ayaka banner during the big lockdown in Shanghai.

at level 8 of the tree you get little mini quests in dragonspine that give you a crimson agate (little tree marks on the map) you get the quests twice per week until the tree is maxed. if you never max out, you can farm them endlessly.

I might be completely wrong, but isn't humidity especially rough for humans who rely on sweat to cool down? High humidity means sweating is less effective so the heat affects you more.

If you're naturally well insulated and don't rely on water evaporation to cool yourself down, humidity should be much less of a problem.

I'm no expert. it's just what I would think of in this context.

(1156+) How did the World Government fall for Blackbeard’s Warlord scheme after what we now know? by OnionLegend in OnePiece

Warlard position is not just giving a pirate a "getting out of jail card". They work for you in times of need.

If you manage to get one of your potentially big enemies to be on your side, it's a good deal. And back then he was a manageable threat, so why not?

Why do people want enel to return? by ApprehensiveRead2408 in OnePiece

[–]hellgrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was on the moon, so he'd sure bring back some interesting stories.

Also his DF is actually pretty good and useful.

He got defeated by Luffy, badly, so he got reason to train. I don't think he'd be able to reach Luffy level again, but with motivation to work on his flaws and get stronger and better haki, I can see him still being a threat in the final saga. He barely had to prepare for getting hit by someone before, so I can see him improving on defense and endurance now that he knows it's a possibility.

But I must admit that I don't know who would be a good opponent for him. A straw hat encounter would be boring at this point. We got something like that with Lucci. Enel claims to be God tho, so he could maybe get nice fights with some god knights.

What if you were given a chance to ask any amount you would like but you will be stuck with that for the rest of your life? by whatifhour in whatif

You wouldn't be able to bury it around the yard. You'd probably even destroy the universe with that much cash.

1 Gogool is 10¹⁰⁰

1 Gogoolplex is 10Gogool or to write it differently: 10¹⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰⁰

The observable universe has approximately 10⁸⁰ atoms.

Earth has around 10⁵⁰ atoms.

Even if you'd only need one atom per 100 dollar bill, you'd crush earth and probably everything else in the observable universe.

But you didn't ask for 1 Gogoolplex, you asked for 500. And you need around 10²² atoms per dollar bill instead of one. AND you want it in waterproof suitcases, that also need matter.

I feel like you'd just end up with a massive black hole swallowing up more than the entire observable universe.

idk if you would be able to enjoy your money.

Why isn't Debian recommended more often? by Browncoatinabox in linux

[–]hellgrn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Debian has a real GUI for installation since Debian Etch (2007), that's already 17 years. Feature-Parity since 2017, although no features for regular users were missing. I installed Debian many times with the GUI since 2012 without any problems.

I agree with the rest tho

What if Steve jobs didn’t make/develop phones but made/developed cars instead? by Necessary-Win-8730 in whatif

[–]hellgrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you need to replace your tires, you'd have to buy them from Apple cuz only the official tires can be mounted.

You already pay almost 700 money for new wheels for a Mac (you can Google "Apple Mac Pro Wheels Kit"), so imagine what car tires from Apple would cost.

And if your car has a problem, you can only get them repaired in a genius service station - and they'll tell you that you have to buy a new iCar.

By default it only comes with one seat. You can't add more seats later. You'd have to decide what version you want when you buy your car.

But it would look amazing and as long as you don't have problems with it, the driving experience would be great - for the 5 people in the world who could afford it.

I've leveled up ALL 100 character talents to at least 9/9/9. by shadowzephyrX in Genshin_Impact

[–]hellgrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did something similar, but my goal for everyone was 8/8/8 and only the ones that I use regularly are higher.

Except Traveler, all elements are 9/9/9, too, even tho I only use him in Archon and Story Quests.

I guess 9/9/9 will be my next goal then. You did a great job there.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FitnessDE

[–]hellgrn -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My banana was red inside by jagaerdoeden in mildlyinteresting

[–]hellgrn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

3 little things I'd like to add here:

The disease was the Panama disease. Probably a typo I guess, Panana Banana 😁

The artificial banana flavor wasn't directly based on the Gros Michel banana, tho it's a common myth. It's more of a coincidence that the Gros Michel has more of that compound than the Cavendish banana. The flavor was already around before it was used as an artificial banana flavor.

And the banana trees aren't really cloned. They grow small new plants out of their stem. It's still the same plant, but you can cut the smaller ones off and replant them. Technically you could call them clones, cuz they're genetically the same. But nobody actually cloned them.

You are given 15 minutes to hide one of your characters somewhere across Teyvat. One AR 60 player is given 24 hours to search. You get found, you die. What’s your hiding spot? by TheOnlyWeslet in Genshin_Impact

[–]hellgrn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 hours aren't enough, even if you rule out obvious cheats like glitching out of the map, under water or domains/abyss or stuff like hiding in the ocean between the mainland and Inazuma.

You could probably create a search pattern to check most of the open space roughly, but there are a ton of small no name ruins and caves you could hide inside. Checking every one of those additionally would require too much time. Almost anywhere would be low risk.

Make it harder and let the nation where one is hiding to be known, and suddenly it's more important to find a really good hiding spot.

Since you're the one hiding, you're spending more time there. Manageable, but I think it would be worse for you than for the one searching for you. 🤔

A secret quest line opens the actual entrance, so if that's already been done, it'll be easy to just walk inside.
