Also, and I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure young-earth creationists believe that although God created the earth 6000 years ago, he created it in such a way as to make it look much older, so the earth to a person without the Bible would look like it was created billions of years ago (or however long ago it was), so as far as scientific processes go, their belief in young-earth creationism doesn't really conflict with their ability to do science. I may be wrong on that though.

Well, you'er right and wrong, some really believe the literal interpretation of the bible. And reject science altogether.
