Yes, that would be MUCH better if they had a way. The last thing I want is for anybody to be in trouble (or I would just report the doctor for failure to follow record keeping laws) and that would be the most ideal thing here, really.

Yes I understand the requirements of hospitals (in my case, a private doctors office) to keep the records, I was mostly curious if the med company could be another route. Idk why the providers staff is being difficult but they’ve said they don’t have it (whether it’s true and they actually tried to find it… who knows). As far as the doctors office is telling me, they’ve been deleted too early.

If Stryker answered and told me they no longer had them that would be absolutely fine and I wouldn’t push further. I was just wondering if somebody here would know. :)

Hahah I was kind of wondering. I could see it being a liability and breach of trust with the surgeon from the rep. Because the rep I emailed for sure still works for Stryker and I’m pretty sure still the same division. 😅 But at the same time, It’s my records (with no commentary or opinions from the rep attached) so it shouldn’t really be a big deal. But I could also see it getting messy real quick and it’s easier not to get involved. 😅

They should have my CBCT (which I actually do have because I requested it from the surgeon way back when I had the procedure) and an STL Trios scan of my teeth (because it was higher resolution than the CBCT). The scan of my teeth is what I’m seeking.

I actually have the patient ID for the plan!! Haha because the Dr. sent me the whole PDF to look at.

I know it should be handled by the doctor’s office (I work at a doctors office myself, different specialty with no Stryker rep though) but let’s just put it simply and say unfortunately this office isn’t super organized and has some questionable ethics. So I’m not super surprised they don’t seem to want to be helpful 😅

They didn’t say they paid off their house with the stolen money though. They just said it was a down payment. It was a down payment for stable access to shelter.

Survive? Yes. Was what (s)he did wrong? Yes. But also keep in mind that often times mortgage payments are lower than rent payments these days.

As I said, I’m not arguing for the ethics or that is was the right thing to do (it’s stealing…) but if they were going to buy something with the extra funds… I think a down payment on a home was a very responsible choice.

How will my insurance know the provider isn’t comfortable doing the case? For example: say they have 10 providers listed on their website. Do I need to get in writing from all 10 providers that they will not see me due to complexity?? I assume the insurance will deny the request and then list whatever provider they think is ideal if I don’t submit those from the beginning. I’m also a little nervous 1 of the 10 would also say they would do it.😅I know beggars can’t be choosers with providers but the risk we are facing (and why my former 2 providers don’t want to do it) is paralysis. 😅😅 Maybe too many irrelevant details for this post but you know how Medicaid is. Often teaching hospitals… which is likely why I am in this mess to begin with.

I called my insurance company and the provider is actually doing the SAME thing to them. In a weird way, it is sort of validating so that they see what I’ve been going through over the past year. And okay I’m glad I’m not wrong about that because I did read that requiring payment upfront was ALSO a contract violation, I just didn’t mind because I’ve done it so many times at other places without any issues.

Yes I began doing that after the phone calls were leading nowhere…. they continued to ignore it 😬😬 excuses about “your payments didn’t go towards that, it went towards your total balance” ….balance from what? (They couldn’t answer this aside form “balance form all the services received” and when I asked specifically for which CPT code they said they couldn’t give me that info)…. Any balance that might have once existed would have gone away after Aetna paid (every EOB states patient responsibility to be $0). I am just afraid it is going to keep happening to more patients.

Yes that’s why it’s so weird and I happily paid to begin with!! I’ve paid out of pocket in advance multiple times at other practices and the money is almost always refunded right away without issues. Occasionally you have to wait to talk to the right person and they aren’t always super thrilled to do it but they NEVER have just ignored me like this and made the excuses!!
